Great Opportunity to do Interesting Work

Pros

The standards for sales, marketing, engineering and support are kept very high. This makes it an attractive place for those who want to do top-quality, interesting work at a cloud company. The VPs are a fantastic group of people who are very dedicated to their goal of disrupting the backup and recovery market. The Board of Directors is strong. The CEO is young (in his 30s) but incredibly smart and capable. The people I worked with were very talented and the opportunity to learn and grow is there.

Cons

The same high standards that are a "Pro" make the environment difficult for some. Changes were made in the past 9 months that caused turnover in sales and marketing, which was hard for many people. Some mistakes were made.

Pros

Casual and friendly atmosphere. Free beverages. Free lunch on Wednesday. HR personnels try to help as best they can and arrange fun events to make employees happy.

Cons

Incompetent and clueless management. As management is incapable of understanding the technical issues, all they can do is shouting at others to get things done. Alarming rate of employee attrition. Regular turnover of employees makes other employees nervous and teams highly unproductive, which in turn causes management to pressure more on leftover employees. It's a vicious cycle of mismanagement.

People, environment, casual, my dog comes to work with me, free food, company events, great technology

In a start-up there are always ups and downs, but the pro's outweigh the con's
