Toxic staffing practices. Horrible hourly Pay. Extremely High Turn Over.
Pros
Very nice people work there. Very hard working people also work there. The environment is relatively safe, considering the setting. There were no sentinel events while I worked there. There is A LOT of opportunity for overtime. See Cons.
Cons
This facility ALWAYS staffs to the absolute minimum and then scrambles and relies upon calling people in or asking people to do overtime, when somebody inevitably calls off. Never, not short staffed. Always made to feel bad when you have to call off because they do not staff the units appropriately. The short staff problem persists through every shift and on every day. The pay is also very low. They will routinely give you an annual raise that does not keep up with the cost of living. Pay is not competitive at all. This facility knows what the national average is and offers a rate several dollars lower than that, while existing and operating in the most expensive state to live in. Most nurses working here only last for a year or so. They work you to the bone and then make you feel bad for having a life, while paying you crap.
