Pros

Serving amazing kids in the centers. The training for RBTs is fantastic.

Cons

The management, especially in the corporate office and the Dallas region, preferred to hire new people without any experience for higher level positions instead of promoting within. They expected those who had been there for years to work more hours and take in more duties without an increase in pay. They claim to pay the average salary for the area, however the highest pay an RBT could make was below the median of the area during my time at the company. I worked 60 hour work weeks, but did not accrue overtime because I was salary. Clinical directors either were working more than 60 hours a week carrying full case loads or were allowed to do nothing. The supervisee experience as a BCBA candidate was subpar. I got lucky to have a mentor who encouraged me to get out of the company so that I could grow as a clinician. They don’t provide support to anyone, especially RBTs, and put their employees in situations that often go against the RBT and BCBA ethics codes.

Pros

I have been with the company for almost four years. One thing that has stuck out to me is how much they listen to their employees and do whatever they can in their power to make changes accordingly. When I started at BI the turnover rate was high. People were leaving for a variety of reasons. One in which involved pay... however I am true believer the grass will grow if you water it. Behavioral Innovations not only lets you choose how much you want to make by creating a bonus structure that let's you decide your outcomes. Like I stated earlier they listen. This is important. They take our feedback and allow us opportunities to grow by providing trainings and conferences. Speaking of conferences and trainings, it is not often that you see your top tier leaders in on these meetings and conferences. They not only listen and provide opportunities, but they are active and involved. I should note this is not to say I have not had a conflict while at behavioral Innovations, I have. However, Behavioral Innovations did what they could to make it right. I believe that is why I am still employed with them. I am not just a number and they want to see myself and others succeed and not throw in the towel because we were not happy with a decision that was made. They want us to grow and they have proven time and time again they are on our side.

Cons

One downside I believe is not just with BI but within the field of ABA is there is always changes and monthly BCBAs meetings are always task for us to do. There is always more we need to add on to our plate in which sometimes feels exhausting.
