They allow someone to be the “fashion police”. Which means they can harass you about your clothing choice. Even though you don’t work directly with the public and after all it is a lumber yard on the west side of town. Word of advice dress down otherwise you will be looked at sideways for looking nice too. Whatever you do don’t work in the credit department the women are jaded and are so incredibly negative. One in particular likes to turn the women against each other with malicious/untrue gossip which in turn causes yelling and drama which makes for a hostile work environment. This one likes to use the office as her personal “Big Brother House”. They get kicks out harassing one older lady in particular. It’s very sad and pathetic. Yet management turns a blind eye. If you stand up for yourself to one of the many ferrell women you will be reviewed as not being able to successfully handle conflict. Absolutely no training provided and they will not pay you based on your education. They pay you as if you only have a high school degree.

Crappy equipment no training go go go attitude,,. pull any employee off to the side and ask them a question and their answer is I don't give a and that starts in the office all the way down to the load pullers. They do not care what time you get off what time you start as in if it fits their needs . They can take a nice vacation but when you ask for a week off and if another driver or load puller has a day off in the middle of the week you cannot have that week because somebody else has got your spot for one crappy day that's how they operate the biggest backstabbing organization I've ever been around with no training asked for something you get nothing . can never trust anybody there somebody is always out to get you and you are always a liar.. never get "Good Job "out of anybody.. And if there is a foul up your butt is on the line for a very long time, years .Do 8000 jobs correct but by God don't be on the wrong side of them once you have a screw up with their crappy equipment it's constantly butt kissing! To The Bitter End!! and you will get tired of it very quickly: people are very uneducated do not know what the right hand to the left hand is doing and that's a fact ask anybody but then again they say I don't give a CRAP!!

Many employees are hired through temp agencies so employees don't feel valued. Company has grown through acquisition leaving it without a core culture. Upper management is happy to manage by email but does little to support. Processes are redundant, antiquated and waste time. Efficiency is not a priority. They make the simple process of selling material more complicated than it needs to be. There is little training available to new employees. This company seems to be more focused on financial gimmicks than being profitable through hard work and servicing the customer.

Rapid growth thru acquisition means some departments are better run than others (for example, with 14,000 employees they had NO sexual harassment training - unthinkable in 2019). Management, no complete/proper training,

Not very rewarding work or recognition for good work. I find myself with a lot of free time throughout the day and I have to actively seek out other things to do. Not as organized as you would think on the lower levels of the business. There is a lot of scrambling and the managers don't feel very accountable for their subordinates. No real training in any role. Basically a "learn as you go" philosophy but they expect you to know what you are doing extremely quickly.
