Pros

The benefits (i.e., transportation subsidy, 401K, yearly bonus, work from home, training opportunities, casual dress) are great. The team sizes are perfect for an agile environment.

Cons

Too many product owners with little education of their responsibilities as a Scrum team member. Business and IT have a big wall between them, but it slowly breaking down. Time tracking is ridiculous, as is the continual change in requirements (often ambiguous). Too many meetings which are often unproductive and intrusive on real work time.

Pros

Pay is good, considering my position and experience (software developer). Benefits are generally great (401k especially), although the health insurance deductible is a little high compared to other companies. My particular team is very good. Most co-workers are very capable, the team functions well, my manager is on top of things but hands-off in a good way. However, I think I lucked out with my team in some ways.

Cons

I've heard very mixed reviews from other tech workers in the company in other groups. A couple people have had poor management experiences, but surprisingly, the most severe of the two worked out in favor of the employee. It's a big company, so there are issues with bureaucracy--performance measurements that feel very redundant at times, old technologies that are hard to avoid using, etc. Office atmosphere is pretty boring, sometimes a little isolating, but they at least have a big facility upgrade planned (interior renovations). There's only so much you can do to try to spark comraderie among co-workers, so I don't fault them too much nor expect it to improve much, but I do feel like the upgraded interior will make people generally more willing to work in the office and more content while doing it.

No paycheck on my last day

Pros

They gave me a chance for few weeks.

Cons

I was let go because some of my colleagues complained that I am too abrupt when I talk, and one of the colleagues twisted what I said about some of the opportunities out there. My supervisor decided to listen to my peers over my words. She was determined to fire me from week one as she did not think I will fit into the department culture. I was told on my last day that there is a paycheck in the envelope they gave me. I didn't even check it before I left the building as I trusted that there will be a paycheck in there. I came home to only learn that there is no paycheck, only a pay stub of how much I should received. I never got kicked out of a company without getting paid. This is my first!
