Pros

Great discounts, especially those exceeding 40%

Cons

Commission structure is useless, and UNFAIR, considering it doesn't matter how much you sell per shift, but how much you make for store in each individual sale. THINK ECONOMY!! After being at Chico's for 8 months, my highest sales have been in the $300's, mainly because of all the commission killing sales/promotions the store always seems to have. I only yesterday made my first sale that crossed the $400 mark - a $711 sale ($1144 before promotional discount.). I was VERY gipped out of any credit/commission for a high-end sale by my store manager. The customers (a daughter and wheel-chair bound mother) spent well over $500, after I worked tirelessly and exclusively for them (slow day) for over an hour. I was gathering another requested item, when I was shocked to find my store manager ringing in the customers' sale under her own assoc. #, claiming the women were "her" customers, and claimed to have greeted them at the entrance to store. (Big deal! I greet everyone who walks in the store. Doesn't mean I own them.) Despite that, the manager proceeded to completely ignore "her" customers, who were carrying several items of clothing to try on, which I took from her & placed in a dressing room. The ladies then asked ME for MY help. I worked tirelessly for the women, who my store manager continued to ignore. Just an aside -- My store manager has, since I started, consistently told me to take care of ALL incoming customers (when it's just the 2 of us & unless it gets too busy), so she can do her bookkeeping work. PRETTY SLEEZY way to steal my first real commission!!

Pros

Amazing boutique leaders and teams.

Cons

CEO press release Tues Apr 28 indicated turnaround strength, good financial position, cash in the bank; Tues eve all field leaders invited to conf call at 8 am est. on Wednesday and told would be receiving a call that day sharing personal employment status. Field leadership RSM/DSM blown apart, cut by almost half. Most field leaders had +10 yrs, or more. NO SEVERANCE.....separated 2 days later. Many waited 4+ hours for phone call from someone they never met to share separation news.......despicable to treat dedicated associates this way. Essentially kicked to the curb. Many home office employees separated in this same manner as well. All of this within 24 hours of CEO press release touting promising outlook; then CEO steps down, returns to board and promotes internally. Total lack of direction and consistency. THIS IS NOT THE COMPANY VALUES AND HOW ASSOCIATES WERE TREATED FOR MORE THAN A DECADE.

Thank you for posting your comments. As a Company, we are experiencing one of the most difficult retail environments ever. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has challenged our business operations causing the Company to take actions we never anticipated in order to secure the long-term stability of Chico’s FAS. The COVID-19 pandemic necessitated the temporary closure of our stores. Although we immediately pivoted to provide an amazing and robust online experience for our customers, the loss of in-store sales has significantly impacted our business. To preserve and protect the long-term stability of the Company, we reorganized our business operations, reduced our workforce, and consolidated functions to be better positioned to recover once the current business downturn ends and in-store sales resume. We are deeply saddened that we had to take these actions and do not take these decisions lightly. Reductions to our workforce are always difficult. Our goal has been, and continues to be, not only to survive these trying times, but to thrive as the Company that always provides the Most Amazing Personal Service to everyone. We look forward to rebuilding the organization and wish all those affected the best as we all navigate the future.

You co-workers will be the best people you'll ever meet

Cons

Leadership. Leadership is awful, they will push you out with no severance. Don't give your time to this company.
