Pros

I was offered a job working in Palo Alto California

Cons

Here is a list of cons I had with this company! 1. I was promised 75% remote time after 6 months…. After 18 months of every week travel I ended up with 25% remote for 5 months. 2. Pay is subpar! 3. I was promised unlimited bench time and at the end of the gig CTG let the entire team go! They did not help us … NOTHING!!! 4. Laid off aprox 8 + people saying “no Cerner work was out there”, within a week had a job working on Cerner. 5. They promised everyone 2 weeks bench time from High up management and they didn’t even follow up with that! 6. They make you pay all your expenses and then wait 2 weeks to get reimbursed!!!! 7. I would not work for them again even if they doubled my salary!!!! 8. I received 5 out 5 pints on evaluations from client with 5 being the best! 9. Watch your back if you talk to them and get everything in writing and still be weary!!!!!

Pros

CTG smoothly grandfathered me in after the company I had been previously working for closed. They were very accommodating to the benefits I had previously received and offered new tools.

Cons

Their Insurance benefits are not the best, they have very strict attendance rules. CTG also had less paid time off than other companies in the same field.

Pros

CTG keeps HR simple, and has good management staff. Potential to work for end client. Education plan, 401K, ability to buy stock. Employee purchase plan

Cons

Contracting. No Paid Personal Time Off, No Vacation.Overtime dependent on client. Some local representatives on contact you when issues, and not looking to improve your position. Lack of raises, even cost of living raises, and sometime decrease to keep client.

CTG - The body shop

Pros

Some really great clients. Decent pay and benefits. Always take advantage of any 401K where they match a portion of you contribution!

Cons

It's a body shop with little care for the employee if the client doesn't like you or when the job ends. Good promotions? None that I ever saw for anyone in 10 years of employment unless you worked in Buffalo HQ. The good old boy program is alive and well here. The responsibility and headache of getting an FSM "promotion" is a joke for the tiny pay that comes with it. 2nd line management is out of touch with what goes on at the local level. CTG seems to hire folks from resumes instead of doing technical interviews and using that as a basis for employment. Many times they hired folks that had no clue what to do in the assignment and barely spoke English for positions which made both CTG and their client look bad to high end customers. One time upper management told the client they were ready to take over a project that was way under staffed both person wise and technically which resulted in the site manager getting the boot from the client.

Pros

There are NO pros for CTG.

Cons

They underbid on contracts and hire a small team with a shoestring budget and then try to work you like a slave. The clients have no clue how bad CTG is and on top of the deliverables for the client CTG tries to occupy 175% of your time with CTG administrative tasks and supervisory responsibilities of your other team members without your consent or paying you for all the additional ours. Don't be fooled.

While we appreciate your feedback and regret that you had a negative experience here at CTG, we respectfully disagree; our employees find many benefits in working for CTG and client deliverables are always a top priority. Our employees communicate that they find fulfillment in their assignments by drawing upon and developing their skills and experiences in order to meet our clients’ needs. We recognize that CTG is not immune to employees concerns from time to time, however, our managers work diligently to ensure all employees are not only happy in their assignments, but also reliably meeting our obligations to the client. When necessary, we encourage all employees to speak with their manager if they are unhappy or having difficulty meeting the expectations within the designated deadline. We wish you well in your future endeavors.

Never Again!

Pros

None, that I am aware.

Cons

I see by the review comments of others that nothing has changed at CTG in a long time. I actually managed to last for 18 years, but that was at a different, and better, CTG than it is today. I left shortly after the current CEO started, and he's the reason I was let go. Prior CEOs cared about each employee, and yes, we were almost all actual employees, not contractors. Lots of very organized, well-run offices throughout the country (and world). Not after he started. He eliminated bench time, cut benefits and pay, and essentially turned CTG into a body shop. It's a shame, because it used to be a good company.

A GREAT Place to Work

Pros

A spirit of collaboration across the organization. Autonomy and trust that you will get your job done. Flexibility and remote work opportunities. Hard work is recognized in many ways and rewarded. A solid history of tenured employees - 20+ years is NOT uncommon. GREAT people. Tools and processes set up to support strong communication channels for a remote work force (IM, email, SharePoint, electronic time and expense reporting capabilities (with mobile receipt delivery - GREAT for travelers). Transparent communications - even when the news is not positive.

Cons

Benefits are expensive, but not out of line with the rest of the insurance market. Largely remote workforce can feel a little isolated and "on an island" at times.

Pros

Not much to do with the actual team, but they found the perfect fit for me as far the customer assignment goes.

Cons

Pay could be better, and over time one forgets from time to time than one is working for them and not the clients exclusively.
