The company I worked for was bought by ESI in a merger; and while I like ESI, I miss my old job.

Pros

Express Scripts offers a strong level of stability. Because it is PBM, the health insurance benefits are inexpensive and provide a lot of coverage. With several locations throughout the US and Canada, if you are looking to relocate, that is always an option and HR is very helpful with that. There are also many opportunities for advancement or to move laterally to another department.

Cons

You don't get a lot of holidays off, and PTO can be pretty difficult to come by. Also, they are very particular about metrics and do not seem concerned with work-life balance. They say they are, but really are not. Also, this company made billions and stands to earn more if the Medco merger is successful, but employees will not receive a bonus and I'm sure any pay increases will be minimal.

This is a very good company to work for but I do not like the responsibilities of my job.

-Company is very profitable. -Benefits are very good. -Good professional expirences -They develop their people if they work hard. -Good incentive programs.

Cons

There is a parental metaphor that I have noticed between management and employees. Employees are treated like children even if they are professionals working in an office environtment. Once someone gets into management they are upgraded to "adult" status. This has been frustrating for me as a person who wants to be treated equitabally but can't unless I go into management.
