Pros

The company provides a fair and perhaps better compensation compared to similar companies.

Cons

Most Managers are bosses and not leaders. The company lacks growth opportunities. There are a lot of non-value added processes and seem to be in the way of getting work done.

Pros

Nothing has changed with ESI. They still do not value its employees and employers do not believe in the company. Multiple issues with utilizing overseas team who continue to make errors. They are pushing for managers to write good reviews so they can ensue it shoes improvement and in hopes of a bonus

Cons

Everything. This is the worst managed company. Leadership is non existent. They continue to do re work due to mistakes made by the overseas team who they pay overtime. Sad for everyone that works here. Everyone is looking for a new job.

Pros

The benefits are good, the people are nice. The stress is remarkably low for a call center job. There are advancement opportunities on a consistent basis. There are not too many shift bids, which means you get to stay in one shift for as long as you like and there aren't too many manager changes which allows you to create a good working relationship with a manager for an extended period of time.

Cons

The pay. I hate to say it but it does not pay what it should for the type of work.

Pros

I can't think of enough good things to merit a 20 word minimum. Checks never bounced. Earned time off was pretty good.

Cons

Couldn't take the time off that I earned. No work - life balance. Disjointed, paranoid management structure. I worked in St. Louis, reported to a manager in New Jersey, who reported to a director in St. Louis, who reported to a VP in New Jersey. A near total lack of meaningful communication. No sense of history or continuity. So many layoffs and job cuts that temp HR people were the norm to handle layoffs.

Pros

The teams at Express Scripts are highly collaborative, and the executive leadership has done a tremendous job empowering mid-level managers to make strategic decisions that move their individual departments -- and therefore the company -- forward. Employees are encouraged to stretch themselves, take smart risks, and think beyond their individual role. There are few other opportunities across corporate America where an individual can do such meaningful work for such a major company in such a newsworthy industry.

Cons

Express Scripts may not be the best organization for individuals who are uncomfortable in a dynamic, ever-changing environment. There is rarely a standard operating procedure for the important work done here. You must be OK with embracing ambiguity, and building something new.

Slow and political

Pros

Nice people Many positions posted - Not easily attainable Nice offices Great lunch - Sodexo Great 401k Nice PTO Workout facility

Cons

HR is way too political and limits the growth of great employees. They use things like "number of years" to tell you exactly where you need to be in the company. You can't go from F to H because you skipped G. Express Scripts wants to empower the employee (they say), but what they do is really do whatever they can to put you into a system where you go to work everyday, give it your best, go home, and get a marginal raise at the end of the year. If you have a desire to jump the ladder quickly and not be a 50 year old person sitting in a cube, or if you have a desire to move around the company (horizontally) and experience everything the company has to offer, this company isn't for you. You will be limited, unless you know a VP personally. The rating system is crazy - as it gives your manager the ability to determine whether you deserve a 2%, 3% or 4% raise. If you can prove you did an amazing job, your boss can come back and say "you didn't collaborate enough", or "you aren't aligned enough" which in turn sets your "stretch" rating down to a "target" rating... meaning you are getting a shorted raise/bonus. The company pinches pennies, and some managers take it upon themselves to pinch the pennies you might have forgotten to pinch. Fun fact about PTO - they will pay you for your PTO, but if you don't give a full 2 weeks notice before resigning, they don't pay you. A two week notice is a nice thing the employee does for the employer, but they use the two weeks notice to strong arm you into providing it. Seems like legal theft to me.

Pros

The compensation was favorable especially if you are a high performer.

Cons

I worked as a pharmacist for Express Script from 2009 to 2015. In 2015 Express Scripts was rated #1 worse company to work for. I can confirm that in that year it was a very unprofessional environment to work for the MTM department. Management was bias. They didn't rotate holiday vacation as policy dictate. When concerns were raised one senior manager said "One guy got 5 years off in a row and still complained!" as if it's OK to give someone 5 consecutive years off while other people were left off the holiday rotation. This happened in a meeting and not in closed doors! I also worked in another department that was managed much better so I can also make a case that it is Not the worst place to work for. That would move my rating up. Whether it is the worse or third worse, in the end numbers don't lie. Unless drastic change happens, I would highly caution choosing Express Script as a career path. They still have some fantastic managers and a new CEO so there is hope. Phil
