Pros

Clean environment Much of it is automated Some good people working there made it a bit more bearable

Cons

Like working in a prison where it seems as if you're always watched. Bunch of snitches within the supervisory group trying to make points with the boss, where their only concern is to create drama. No structured training program whatsoever. Throw you in the breech and expect you to do the job within a week. Always a "surprise" for you in that you're barely trying to learn and do your job, and the "why didn't you", "you should've known" fingers start pointing at you and the blame game starts when something happens. I challenge most bosses to tell me they knew exactly what they were doing on their jobs and assimilated to the company culture in a week or less. Here is something I have NEVER heard of in any industry and shows just how cheap they are. If you give your notice to leave the company, your medical benefits last just for the end of the week. So if you leave on a Friday, your med benefits last through till Sunday night . .What????? This example here shows just what little regard they have for their employees.

Pros

You have a great health benefit package and a very low cost to you. You have a full time job, with seldom mandatory time off. You acquire 6 hours of PTO per week and you can request that time online. Bonus' are based on performance. I was number 1 in my department, got about a 800 bonus every 4 weeks.

Cons

The call center space is bigger than a football field. You will have a small cubicle and work in a row of about 15 other techs. They are very strict about little things, because management does not know how to manage in a way that increases production. Don't think this is your easy hourly job. Anytime you leave your desk you must be using your 30 minutes of allotted time for break. The sups can see when you are not at your desk and in production and you can get written up for being even a minute late. You will be on the phone all day, so if doing repetitive things are not for you then this is not the job. One of the biggest cons is the Pharmacy Tech license. Although the tech transcribe Rx's there is NO REQUIREMENT TO BE NATIONALLY CERTIFIED to work here. So if you ever want a different Pharmacy Tech job you will have to obtain that national certification. This is something that Express Scripts does not offer nor do they encourage, because no one is actually required (at the aforementioned pay grade) to get that training. I've seen people write the wrong directions on an Rx (without out any training mind you) and be fired.

Pros

I got a chance to meet some really cool people. Training was awesome, and they also allow you to have unpaid time off whenever the call volume was low, they call it VTO.

Cons

We were underpaid and understaffed the majority of the time. There was no room for advancement within the company.

Pros

The company doesn't require that you be over "sugary" will members when they call in. For example, you don't have to ask permission to ask them a question. The company also recognizes your achievements and commitment to providing excellent service.

Cons

I was work-at-home in North Carolina and sometimes had problems getting a supervisor to pick up when I had to escalate a call. The members would get irritated having to wait so long to get help. Also, training for dealing with open season calls was inadequate. Oftentimes I could not find prescription benefit info on plans that had not gone into effect yet.

Pros

Great leadership, career advancement opportunities, training, flexible hours, great benefits. ESI is doing great things for its members and employees!

Cons

Since I have to say something, I'd say fewer paid holidays than other places; however, that's the nature of the business.
