Pros

The only real pro in the call centers are the people who work side by side with you, the call takers and a few of the first line of supervisors, the floor supervisors, They are quality people who actually care about the work environment and the customer.

Cons

The Con's are that the first line of supervisors and call takers have to put up with having to deal with and watch the "clicks" of managers and positions on up try to lead you and sometime don't even know their job let alone ours. Both call takers and first line supervisors are generally keep truly in the dark about what is happening and going to happen in the workplace on a daily and monthly basis. Even when managers themselves would call a unit meeting, a lot of questions by staff we're always skirted around so no real answers were received and you would leave the meeting scratching your head asking yourself, what just happened. There was a very vocalized "open door policy" but hardly anyone used it in fear of then being picked on in your weekly monitors, which would add such a greater level of stress to an already high job stress level that people would even sometimes quite. I saw this happen to many very good people who the company should have sought to keep as they were actually doing the correct job and asking relevant questions. It was like there was always something being hidden from us and such a sweatshop type mentality of upper management, it was just horrible. Another review mentioned "greed"... yes this company is all about that. Don't for a moment think that the company is really for the customer, not so much, I saw too much to the contrary. I mean I get it, it is a for profit business, and that's good, it has just gone way to far to the other side and has lost it's vision and purpose. Also don't think this review is specific to the call center, I had friends in the dispensing pharmacy, operations, client services and clerical. The same feelings and thoughts about the company we're and I'm sure are still the same. As an after thought I used to get a kick out of the internal "assessment of the company" that we would all take yearly and sometimes bi-yearly, I still just now chuckled to myself, as it always came back that 85% or greater of the employees thought it was such a great place to work. We who worked there knew why it came back so hi a "good" rating, one word, "Scared" . Most people who took it, even though it was done by independent contractor, felt the company could figure out who was filling it out and then that person too would be picked on. Really sad if you think about, but gosh management would sure wag that report in our faces saying how much the employees loved the place. All I have to say is that was part of their ongoing self delusion. I hope this helps anyone who is thinking about going to work for Express Scripts, just think about it carefully. Just so you know I left of my own free will in good standing after just being fed up with all the shenanigans, so I'm not a fired disgruntled ex-employee and I was able to go off my blood pressure pill's within two week's after leaving.. Really!

Pros

Bonus structure while company is performing. I had a work life balance, but that was a rarity in the company.

Cons

No clear vision or formula to get where you need to get as a department or company. Upper management was always trying to GUESS what their management wanted or needed. Their guessing would result in us having to respond with knee jerk reactions at the end of the year to act like THEY actually accomplished something for the year. They don't learn from past mistakes and continue to think if you do the same things you will get different results. Band-aids to fix the issues are rampant and they never go back to make the solution better. Have no clue in how to accurately define a problem or allow for enough time to develop a long term solution that is easy to support and maintain. Management is either a dictatorship, uninvolved or clueless.

Pros

Schedule- Awesome, pretty much a schedule to fit everybody. Bonus- If you are top notch and exceed set rates as an RPh or Tech you WILL get rewarded at year end with good bonus as they do reward their top 25% performers well. Salary- Overall, no complaints here.

Cons

Trust in Upper Management- None. Easily the most corrupt and unethical upper management team I have ever worked for, and most likely in the entire PBM industry. Competency of Upper Manangement- Severely lacking. They have tremendous trouble keeping clients due to the terrible service that is given. Beyond penny pinching when it comes to allowing their employees to attempt to take care of their customers. You do not have a good feeling about how your company services patients when you go home at the end of the day.

Pros

Great co workers who are dedicated and care about doing a great job and keeping members happy. The benefits are great and working from home a huge plus!

Cons

Getting upper management to listen to those in the trenches on the front line. We may be in the trenches at the bottom of the food chain but we know our jobs and need to be involved in true focus group sessions in which upper management can truly see how it's done. Anyone can manage a department or company but a smart executive will demonstrate a true desire to listen to those who do the job everyday and will value contributions of those on the front line to improve service to clients and their members. Happy employees will be loyal, work even harder!

Pros

The best (and only reasons) to work here, is for the benefits. ESI does offer great benefits for its employees- medical, dental, 401k, etc...

Cons

ESI does not give two craps about their employees that are under managers. Call takers- whether 1st line PCA's or the escalation line of RTL's- are treated as if we don't matter at all. They don't care about work/personal life balance. The micromanage every tiny aspect of everything. God forbid you want/need to go above and beyond for a highly escalated member and need to spend an extra minute or two on the phone. Before the merge with Express Scripts, Medco cared about their employees and it showed! Since the merge, we can see such a huge difference in the way we are treated and managed. Most of the 'good reviews' are from upper management or people that don't deal with the #1 reason there's a company at all- patients.

Pros

Wish I could say decent pay

Cons

Directors can't direct Managers can't manage Supervisors are clueless Team leads are want to be all of the above who are inexperienced, think they know it all and play a key part in keeping this company down. Supervisors (BB) takes old processes that have been working fine and come up with horrible ideas that drag down a department (bulk an prep) and sends the ripple effect into the warehouse department that results in Mandatory overtime daily and on weekends. This place sucks! And the ideas of upper management suck along with it. This place has no concern for work/life balance although that's what they preach. And now, if you have a scheduled PTO on a Monday for an extended weekend and Saturday is mandated you are required to work the Saturday or be punished. That's how the Warehouse works! Please stay away from this place!!!!!
