Cons

It is mostly a sales company, they've adopted a guerilla-sales ad marketing strategy which helps them sell their product to small to medium businesses. They have extremely outdated codebases, not scalable in many aspects. There have been some efforts to upgrade some parts of it but the core company runs largely through extremely outdated services. The worst is the Engineering culture, there is none. The sales and Marketing teams run the show. The recent shake in the management left its managers scared about their jobs, making the company culture even worse.

Pros

Everyone seems genuinely wonderful especially since there was a good emphasis on a culture fit in the interview. Sales onboarding was helpful and informative on the product. Not a true leader in the CCaaS space, but the product does seem pretty solid and is definitely moving towards that direction.

Cons

The benefits are terribly lacking and very behind the industry within the tech space. 401k match is laughable ($500 per quarter) Starting PTO days are lackluster (you start with 15 days, but they force you to take 3 days between Christmas and New Years.... so you basically start with 12 days of PTO). While they pay for your healthcare insurance premiums, it is very high for any dependents and the healthcare choices aren't amazing coverages.

Benefits if your single. RSUs at sign on. Very supportive coworkers at your level since everyone is in the same trench.

Cons

Sick time does not exit- If you get sick you have to take it out of your PTO but they overly push working extra hours a week and everyone is salaried. The benefits if you need to provide for a family aren't great. Pay raises are very minimal and RSUs are not given out after your hiring alottment if your not management. Sales will write up SOs that are not what the customer wanted or tell them don't the other divisions will do it for free (which goes against the billable time requirements)

Thank you for sharing your feedback, we appreciate it. Personal Time Off (PTO) encompasses both vacation and sick time, in addition to 12 paid company holidays. We were thrilled when our CEO unexpectedly gave us all September 4th off as an extra holiday, making it 13 paid company holidays this year! Five9 leadership advocates for a very flexible work schedule for our employees, particularly during the pandemic.
