Pros

If you are a gamer, then you can find many like-minded coworkers and customers. When you are a gamer selling games, you tend to be able to relate more to the customer's needs and understand what they want more accurately.

Cons

Not enough hours allowed for working. I was supposed to be full-time.

Pros

They have some decent benefits and a generally friendly work environment. They have good oppurtunities for advancement. For instance, I started out as a part-time employee and have since gotten promoted twice in about a years' time. It's a fun place to work if you enjoy video games. You will meet many people who share your hobby, employees and customers alike.

Cons

The pay they offer for the tasks given is ridiculus. They expect so much done for so little in return. Also, they don't give enough payroll to each store to be able to operate successfully. For instance they give each store roughly 90-100 hours for any given week(excluding holiday times of course), and 40 of those go straight to the assistant manager.

Pros

If you love playing video games, that's easily the best reason for working at GameStop. You get to know about all the latest and greatest video games, even the ones you don't want to know about. It's a great job for improving people skills and the basics of management - managing payroll, having employees under you, making schedules, posting up new marketing signage every three weeks. If you're lucky enough to have a cool manager, then schedule flexibility is a plus since it's made the week before.

Cons

The pay is okay as a part-timer until you hit Assistant Manager, when you actually make enough to pay bills.
