Pros

Great People. Great Benefits. Exciting Events and New Releases. Annual Managers' Conference.

Cons

High hourly associate turnover. Labor hours for stores are laughable. No structured training program. Pay rates for managers are horrible. Upper level management out of touch w/ the field.

Pros

Everything you have to upsell is what the customer already wants; you just have to explain the benefits to get them to say 'yes'. Store Managers and above get flown out for an annual conference and have venders 'throw' free swag at you is the best. They hold contests regularly to add incentives for selling certain products or pushing certain metrics. Great benefits, bonus', and 401k plan. The company is very innovative. As technology and the market changes so does GameStop.

Cons

As a salaried Store Manager they make you go beyond what is set up in the job description with how many hours/days you are 'required' to work. When times get tough they resort to lowering store hours and forcing the Store Manager to work six days a week on top of the requried six day work weeks in December. The amount of tasks assigned, stock inflow, and added jobs like overnights are not reduced during those 'tough times' to help the associates focus on the customers. For hourly associates they are underpaid for the job they are required to do in comparison to similar retail companies.

Pros

Easy job, personally had great coworkers and some fun regulars, game checkout, discount (albeit a small one).

Cons

Low pay, very few hours, just another faceless employee to senior management, not a lot of room to move up, don't take care of their employees.
