Pros

- Office location (right in Reston Town Center) - Unlimited PTO - Free snacks/drinks - Product itself has potential (but the company holds it back)

Cons

- All decisions come from new parent company, K1, and management just lies to your face about it - Management does not take your opinion into consideration - People are leaving left and right because the culture is non existent anymore, very toxic environment - Sales leadership is a complete joke and the main reason things are so bad on the sales side. "CRO" and person attempting to lead sales have no experience or expertise to be doing so and their decisions reflect that. Be sure to Google the CRO, not the kind of person you want in a leadership position - Nobody on sales is hitting their numbers so you won't make any money and you will spend your whole day trying to figure out what to do with all your free time - Sales team is treated like they are in kindergarten with silly activities and daily huddles that accomplish absolutely nothing - Reporting is also a joke. They will report on what you "commit" but not what you actually accomplish (because those numbers would be terrible). Don't trust any numbers being sent out because they are all wrong and made to look how management wants them to look - Not only are people leaving but they are firing a ton as well. A bunch of good leaders and reps were let go which really make you question your standing. Nobody is safe - Product as mentioned has potential but they cant seem to come out with anything worth while and will be left in the dust soon

Hey there, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the Glassdoor community. We certainly agree with you that our product is great and yet, has the potential to offer even more value to our customers. There are some awesome projects on our roadmap for 2020 that will do just that, and we are really very excited about them! The Reston Town Centre is a great place to work, free parking and so many great lunch places, lovely for walking meetings in summer and the ice skating rink is fun in winter. In the past, I would have agreed with you regarding your observation regarding our reporting. Our previous systems weren't able to give real-time data and it took time and manual effort to get a clear picture. This year, however, we launched a system that shows us real-time exactly where we are against our metrics and a series of dashboards on the wall that break that down further. The transparency and immediacy are great! You are correct we do not ask the team to manually report on their sales in a month - our systems take care of that for us and import it into Slack and Dashboard TVs to boot, so everyone knows where they stand. This is why I'm surprised that you are so critical of our sales team - the stats simply don't support your view. One-third of our Account Executives hit 130% or more last month, a trend that has been steadily increasing. 85% of our Business Development Managers met or exceeded their targets and all our Account Managers did, too. I assure you that K1 is not in the driver's seat, that all of our decisions are made by our CEO and Department Heads. K1 has brought to bear their team of experts who have helped our leaders to increase rigor and transparency and to align around best practices, such as daily huddles, at the request of our team. I'm sorry to hear you didn't feel that those best practices were beneficial to you. Thanks again for your contributions to GoCanvas and all the best in your career moving forward.

Pros

- Amazing co-workers - Amazing product - Great benefits - Up until recently: great culture - Able show recognition to coworkers via "Rock Stars"

Cons

- Loss of leadership ( 4 managers in the past year) - No opportunity for growth within my team - Culture has taken a nose dive - 0 transparency when it comes to salaries - I am a woman and I know I am making significantly less than the men in my position. Female leadership also seems to get the shaft when it comes to getting promotions and raises. - No career development plans - Not hiring from within - No one seem to care about processes and sales won't be afraid to screw your team over to get the sale.

Hey there, thanks for taking the time to write a review for the Glassdoor community. I notice that you are a current employee, I encourage you to speak with Judie our head of HR, or myself, further about your concerns. If you would prefer not to meet directly, I encourage you to reach out via OfficeVibe and have an anonymous dialogue through our engagement platform. We would appreciate the opportunity to continue the dialogue, as you raise some concerns that we simply don't endorse or support. Teams working at odds, for example, is not the GoCanvas way, and something we would love to collaborate on correcting. You are correct that the Client Services team has seen significant change in the past 6 months, we fully expect that it will settle and stabilize this quarter. We might agree to disagree though, on some points you raised, too. We deliberately look internally to fill open positions and delight in making internal promotions. In fact, we have in the last 3 quarters had 10 internal promotions. With regard to salaries, our HR team completes market analysis and salary audits each year, to ensure our salaries are aligned with the market and that there aren't discrepancies in pay for the same role and level of experience. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience at GoCanvas.

Pros

- Fully Stocked Kitchen - Flexible vacation policy and hours

Cons

- Leadership isn't honest about serious matters or does not provide full details - Executive level lacks diversity and empathy (one of their core values) - Employees fear being let go at any moment - Favoritism happens more often than it should - You can be overworked and they won't do anything to help you - Amount of work and hours put in does not equate to good performance unfortunately

Hey there, thanks for taking the time to share your opinion with the Glassdoor Community! We agree that hours put in at the office does not equate to good performance, and tenure does not equate to seniority or promotions. At GoCanvas we measure the performance of our team members by the impact they have on our customers, our team and our product. We find this supports diversity, as our team members are hired for, and measured by, the outcomes they achieve, not the qualities they possess. Diversity is something we have prioritized and been working on for the past few years at GoCanvas. We agree that early in your tenure the team was not particularly diverse and we have worked hard to change that. We are proud to say that this is no longer the case, we have diverse leaders at all levels, and in our current leadership team, we have a veteran, a woman, a member of the LGBTQ community and an immigrant. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors and thank you for all your contributions to GoCanvas over the years.
