I worked in 2 offices for 1 tax season. The 2nd office I worked at was amazing. The office manager was really helpful and friendly. The tax pros were too. They were really grateful to have me there as a receptionist to help out.

Cons

In a bad office, the manager is barely there. The office manager schedules their own appointments for friends/families and will be the only thing they do the whole tax season. In my experience, the office manager for the first office I worked at wouldn't even show up for appointments she scheduled. The tax pros talked about coworkers and clients, and acted like they didn't need my help while complaining they have too much work to do to not have a receptionist.
