Pros

Seasonal, some flexibility in hours, lots of night and weekend hours available, makes a good second job to bring in some extra money.

Cons

Poor communication from upper management, poor planning, increasing prices without demonstrating value added services to clients. Give away tax software online for free and then question office performance in run down buildings in crappy neighbourhoods.

Pros

I was a receptionist for the 2014 tax season. Great seasonal position. Overall it was easy going, but I had a horrible manager so I basically trained myself. My coworkers were mostly retired. All wonderful and supportive individuals who did their best to help me since I was new. We all had a fun time working and helping clients, especially when our manager wasn't there to dictate out every move and steal all the new clients for herself.

Cons

I would have given my experience 5 stars, but my office manager ruined it for me. She was the worst "boss" I have ever had. Unreasonable, hypocritical, abrasive, and the list goes on. I eventually confronted her and she acted innocent, kid of blowing it off. I sucked it up until the end of the season and just did my best.

Pros

Great temporary work while looking for other work. Free tax preparation. Training was minimal in the beginning but the job got easier as manager helped with questions as they came up.

Cons

Temporary, seasonal work what is hard to transfer skills to other work. The pay seemed low for the amount of work involved. Often worked long days, after closing.
