Flexibility of work schedule; Building one's own book of business; Growth in professional knowledge; Making a difference in clients' financial lives; Seasonal work during wintertime, when I have limited other interests; Interesting colleagues from all walks of life; Excellent training courses offered.

Cons

Stagnating compensation; Limited work year; Some unprofessionalism in colleagues; Work site offers little parking and can be dirty at times; Customer service pros can be unreliable.

Pros

If your mind is set that way, preparing tax returns is a fun and challenging job. The educational opportunities are unlimited, and most of the clients are a joy.

Cons

The pay structure is terrible and gets worse every year. Management seems to think that doing something, even if it makes no sense, is preferable to doing nothing.
