Pros

I love working at Block. If you get in a good office, compensation can be great as well as leadership.

Cons

Advancement if very limited. If you're in a bad office, compensation can be very low. Leadership teams are not that great. It takes a long time for an ineffective leader to lose that position if they are in good with the DM. DMs can change the whole leadership team each time there is a new one, which creates problems throughout the district.

Pros

It's a great part-time job. The hours are flexible and, if you put effort into it, the training is fantastic.

Cons

The company seems to be more driven by selling products than by doing taxes. This is a change from when I started in the early 2000s, and my current district manager doesn't seem to care how well I do taxes (I do them *very* well) but only about how many Peace of Minds and Second Looks I can sell.
