Pros

Night and day shifts that accommodated schedules, so if you did something in the morning that wouldn’t allow you to work full time it was okay.

Cons

Temp agencies were used to hire employees, meaning you were given a very low hourly wage along with a huge amount of turnover. You were treated like a child working for the call center, all this for 11 bucks a day and a .25 can’t raise a year. Every single thing you did was monitored to the second you got off the phones to using the bathroom. You were reprimanded daily for the amount of time you spent away from the phones. We’re not talking about an excessive amount we’re talking about going over 6 minutes per hour. Meaning if you took to long in the bathroom you’d hear about it the next day. One manager had it out for everyone and created a very hostile work environment, if you are thinking about working for the call center do yourself a favor and stay away.

Pros

There are some really great people at HealthStream and there are a lot of strong friendships inside and outside of the workplace.

Cons

Favoritism. No room to grow. Unrealistic expectations. Extremely low pay compared with other companies and identical positions. Zero change. Low expectations for anything positive for employees. Status quo is general disappointment.

Pros

the employees themselves are fun and smart.

Cons

Sales Comp plan changes every year. Capped commissions. unrealistic quotas. They took away most performance bonuses as well. annual sales meeting is depressing- share rooms at the Marriott by the airport. In general, zero appreciation for the sales team. And yet, they keep hiring sales people. No lead generation... have to cold call every day/all day. No $$ for trade shows, magazine ads, lead generation. Chaotic management, constantly changing. Terrible benefits- ONE week paid for maternity leave, no 401k match... and this is a HEALTHCARE company. Product is old and out of date. We compete with organizations who are constantly updating their products and appreciate and reward their employees. Sales people are required to also be the BILL COLLECTORS for organizations that don't pay. Accounts receivable won't do it. So, if the customer files bankruptcy/go out of business, your commissions are RETRACTED.
