Pros

People are engaged and want to help their clients.

Cons

I had been working at HealthStream for 11 years when I took an approved 3 week Medical Leave. Upon returning, Healthstream changed my territory that resulted in a dramatic cut in pay. I talked to HR numerous times. I was told to discuss it with my manager. Nothing was done about it. I had just won the highest award for sales in this company and three months later, this is how I was treated. The incident has been brought to the attention of the EEOC.

Pros

the employees themselves are fun and smart.

Cons

Sales Comp plan changes every year. Capped commissions. unrealistic quotas. They took away most performance bonuses as well. annual sales meeting is depressing- share rooms at the Marriott by the airport. In general, zero appreciation for the sales team. And yet, they keep hiring sales people. No lead generation... have to cold call every day/all day. No $$ for trade shows, magazine ads, lead generation. Chaotic management, constantly changing. Terrible benefits- ONE week paid for maternity leave, no 401k match... and this is a HEALTHCARE company. Product is old and out of date. We compete with organizations who are constantly updating their products and appreciate and reward their employees. Sales people are required to also be the BILL COLLECTORS for organizations that don't pay. Accounts receivable won't do it. So, if the customer files bankruptcy/go out of business, your commissions are RETRACTED.
