Pros

Over 4 years working with this company. They provided me with paid training for 6 months. Paychecks have always been on time and correct. Pay is fair and within market. Since it’s a very convenient remote position any type of assistance is rendered through access to an online portal library with how to type documents or a call to the 24 hour hotline for assistance or tech support directly with a professional. If further assistance is needed, sending an email gets a response within 24hours. Equipment and some supplies provided. Equipment is fixed or replaced within 24hrs with pay. You set your own schedule, they just ask that you stick to that schedule for at least a year. I work nights, by choice! You do not have to start out working graveyard shift or ever. All employees are respectful and professional.

Cons

I’d say the cons are related to the line of work. Although you are employed through the company you are contracted. This means bare minimal benefits. I’ve heard most people use this type of employment as part time to gain extra income. Not my case, I’m a full time contractor. The only thing I find hard to do is bid for vacation which is Unpaid. Part of the Minimal benefits.

Thank you for taking the time to write a thoughtful review! We appreciate hearing about your personal experience and are happy to learn that you enjoy taking calls for us. As a “Great Place to Work” we really care about our interpreters and are continuously working on improvements to make taking calls for us even better. Contractors are self-employed and not eligible for the same benefits as employees. If you’d like to provide further feedback, please email us at interpretercommunications@languageline.com.
