Pros

The only okay thing about working here is that they are pretty flexible with PTO as long as you can find people to cover your projects while you're gone

Cons

As a project manager at LLS you will be very underpaid. Compare the salary to other PMs in the same area and you will see that it's way UNDER AVERAGE. Management is also poor which causes a lot of confusion and friction amongst departments. They also make you work on way too many projects at once and have a terrible way of tracking how much you actually have on your plate. Expect long hours and high stress

Pros

For someone starting out and looking to build experience, this is a good, solid company with a good reputation which offers a compact, yet comprehensive training program. The company tries to foster a community spirit among the interpreters.

Cons

At all times you are a very small cog in a large machine. You can feel disposable and replaceable at times and management is not always very responsive to feedback. Considering the complexity of some of the cases and the high quality expected, the hourly rate could be much higher.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate hearing about your personal experience and are happy to learn that for the most part you enjoy taking calls for us. As a “Great Place to Work” we really care about our interpreters and are continuously working on improvements to make taking calls for us even better. We have many other resources including a team of managers available to support and help our interpreters grow and be successful. Please note: we regularly review industry compensation. If you have any further feedback to share please email us at interpretercommunications@languageline.com.

Pros

WFH, Device provided, Good training at beginning(one month) if you have no experience, but that is the only honeymoon period, everthing afterward was a nightmare.

Cons

Pay is definitly horrible, always 30% if not more lower than industry standard. No holiday off, if you work on holiday, no holiday pay either. No PTO, only unpaid time off, which is even hard to get approved because they are always short staffed. You get two 15mins breaks and 30mins lunch, anything other than that, they deduct from your pay check, you have to either control your bladder to fall right in the break time; or you have to run to bathroom, which affect your adherence, and they always deduct more minutes when you are logged out to use the bathroom. Calls for busy languages like Spanish and Mandarin are back to back, you only get 15s between calls, but they expect you to make call reports for every situation happened. You could be dealing with delivering death message to people on one phone call and then in 15s you have to report everything and pull youself together to take the next phone call. When problem arise, you asked for support, management cannot care less about your wellbeing but only care about the customer no matter how rude or unreasonable they can be, They always give you script answers but not really answer your question at individual level. That is the easiest job I have ever seen as manager being remotely copy & paste standarized answer to every question even though it does not help solving the problem at all. No raise or growth opportunity, but they every so often require you to do more, they promote you from L3 to L4 medical and then to L5 All call interpreter, but you still get the same pay with more responsibility. Insurance is like non-existense, its coverage always ashame me when I go to Dr.'s office. They don't have any drug coverage but instead a discount program where you can basically get better discount with other free program. WORST thing is they hide information from you, so they can pay as little as they can get away with(legal issues).
