Pros

The only reasons to work at MSG include very limited ticket perks and access to venues and various talent.

Cons

There is no professional development, no training, no transparency, and no trust. You WILL be underpaid and experience very political and emotional decision-making from "leadership". What exists is antiquated technology, very apparent absence of diversity, cliques devoted antagonize one another, and an unusually high employee turnover. Aside from the work-culture, there is no personal development, no health perks, no health encouragement, and certainly no food or gym considerations. Many people think "sports teams" must promote a healthy lifestyle. MSG does the opposite.

Pros

You get to see some shows or games if you want to

Cons

I’ve never worked at a place so toxic in my entire career. The MSG name and brand recognition only went so far. Friends and family would constantly say how awesome it must be to work here while only a select few knew the truth of what it was like. There’s a fear based culture in every department. HR is the furthest thing from your friend and has way too much power meddling in day to day workflows. The turnover is insane, no one on most teams stays beyond 6-12 months. There’s constant “re-orgs” where they axe entire teams. I heard the entire engineering team who built the Sphere quit the day after it opened leaving that department scrambling with only a few people. I’m talking 20+ people quitting at the same time. My managers are all new and micromanage everything we do because they don’t know what they’re doing. I’ve seen people get fired because they weren’t liked. It’s a huge old school boys club in most departments. HR will fake out promotions to people with no salary increase or title change, they just change the JD with added responsibilities and then guilt trip you if you don’t take it. I could go on for days but my advice? If you want the brand recognition on your resume, get in, do a year max, and then leave. Unless the pure lack of work/life balance forces you out before then.
