Pros

You get to see free concerts or shows only if you work that particular show and It's a very beautiful environment to work.

Cons

You only work if there's a show. Most times, you'll work only 4 shows in one month or none at all for several months and every now and then you'll get a month when there's a show everyday. You will work on average of about 3-4 hours for every show you do work. Also contrary to popular belief, well at least for this theater, there are no benefits. This position is the face of the company and has the most interaction with the public, however you will not get comp or discounted tickets. Merchandise, Security, Bartenders, and Management have these perks. I don't know why Ushers are not included. The Ushers are underpaid compared to all other departments within the company and COMPARED to similar positions at other theaters.

Pros

It's an exciting place to work and you get to partake in a lot of the action around 34th Street. When you have droves of people coming to see shows nearly nightly, you will most certainly have excitement and a story to tell by the time you leave work. It's a major entertainment company so there is a lot of possible opportunities for moving around departments. If you are in to live entertainment and sports, you'll definitely learn a great deal from working there and have the perks to see some of the events.

Cons

They are closed for renovations and will be for the next three summers out of the year so employment is rather unstable at the moment. The hours are very long and erratic... at least with my position, they schedule you for early or late shifts and you never know what your schedule will be until the prior week. Because of the nature of the workplace, you are on your feet quite a lot which can be exhausting. Also because of the nature of the entertainment industry, you naturally might end up working a lot of evenings and holidays including Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years.

Pros

MSG offers a range of job opportunities from sports to entertainment. If you are trying to get sports experience MSG is a place to apply to. The opportunity to work with either the Knicks, Rangers, or Liberty, or for all depending on what department you are in, will give you a great resume builder. The HR department is very good, and tries to guide you to the right position.

Cons

Some managers are reluctant to give praise and/or recognition when deserved. And some are not as organized as they should be for the positions they hold.
