Pros

It's a great company if you're an economist.

Cons

It relies on Government contracts. They basically gas light employees when they claim everything is now great after laying of 1/3 of its employees. HR needs improvement.

Pros

1. Team members are extremely helpful and supervisors are understanding of life. 2. Flexibility 3. Weekly pay 4. The kinds of contracts Mathematica receives are actually helpful for communities. USDA, SSA, etc.. 5. Chances of travel. Some contracts require inperson training.. I couldnt go due to the sudden announcements of them but it was nice to know that the hotel & plane tickets wouldve been paid for.

Cons

1. How many projects you work on is based on what government contracts the company has, which relates to who is in control of the government. Ever since Trump got into office, he cut funding for programs ... which meant contracts were cancelled .. that then lead to hours were cut drastically. Random layoffs throughout the year, literally. I would wake up to emails saying there would be another round of layoffs which was scary.. Changed their DEI statement & a random sudden push for AI.. 2. benefits are basic. PTO is cool, they do have health insurance plans etc but theres no wow factor to them AND you have to work a certain number of hours to be eligible. 30-40 i believe. But since contracts can be cut.. how can someone maintain the work requirements? All Contracts end eventually. Its a gamble to even sign up for those benefits. 3. no feel for actual growth. you gain experience for sure, but since everything is contract based.. what youre hired for is kinda where you are going to do for a while. ive worked with people who have worked with company for years and they still get the same entry level position.. maybe its because thats only what they want? 4. no feel of appreciation. slight raises but not enough thats a wow factor. no bonuses.
