Pros

None. Do not work here, unless it is a last resort. "Associates" get a 30% discount, but there are so many online coupons that override the employee discount that it truly doesn't matter. Find a better place to work, and you'll be able to afford shopping here in the first place.

Cons

You are expected to work twice as hard as is humanly possible, and you will be written up by a hypocritical manager when you fail to meet their absurd expectations. The pay is awful, the work is awful, and the company is awful. Everyone plays the blame game. The fire exits were always blocked by incompetent overnight workers who would leave boxes and trash around the store. I was instructed to lie in record keeping to avoid my manager getting in trouble. Manager never did half the things she berated me for. She would call me on my off days to yell at me angrily for things I hadn't done or been responsible for. Other managers and other customers made comments about her terrible attitude. I was lied to, and told in the interview that I would make more hourly than they actually ended up paying me. Everyone working there is miserable and stressed all the time, because the culture is just one of impossible expectations and blame assignment.

Pros

Great company culture, when it is being practiced in the store. Met so many amazing coworkers and customers while here. The Company is heading in a good direction, with product, culture and technology. The discounts are amazing, benefits are lacking. Personal time, vacation and sick time are pretty decent though. It is a great company as a part time gig or to make a career out of.

Cons

Heavy workloads put on full time staff. I understand the WHY, but you can not push customer focus as a priority and then wonder why tasks are not always completed by the end of a shift. Again I understand that these tasks relate to the customer focus but explain that to a customer who is standing in your store! I know how to delegate tasks out but you must have someone to delegate to. If you are going to have an open door policy the rules need to be set and enforced. I was trying to speak on behalf of an entire store, was never heard by the person I contacted. I then became a target and was retaliated against at the store level. No one should come to work anxiety stricken on a daily basis. Complaints in the store were of bullying, hostile work environment, discrimination based on protected classes such as sexuality and pregnancy. I am no longer there to protect those employees who are still there ( most have left with me or are looking for other work) as i was targeted and retaliation was allowed to happen I was their voice and no one bothered to listen!

Pros

Generous employee discount percentage with a card and a good place to get started somewhere if you're fresh out of high school and have nothing to get started working in life with. If you can work hard at physical labor there's no reason anyone can't get a job here.

Cons

Can be grueling, the turn over rate is very high so if you stay with the store longer than a few months they'll begin to depend on you to a degree that will physically and mentally wear you out. I left as a part time worker being constantly assigned 39.5 hours per pay period. I was exhausted however that state of affairs was only after having held the job over a year and becoming known as reliable. If you're at a particularly old building you may completely lack a loading dock as our location did, this will result in hand unloading trucks outside in any weather. They will expect you to be out there no matter how cold or snowy it is.
