Pros

People are phenomenal, give the HR recruiter a promotion for selling the dream

Cons

Discrimination, harassment, petulant child-like leadership, fear tactics, massive favoritism, arrogance, heavy handed politics for a start-up, high turnover, micro management I thank the stars I'm no longer at this company. You can see there is a strong trend in the negative reviews, Mirakl is no longer the darling it used to be in 2018. HR tries their best to keep the employees happy, bless their heart, but they can't overcome the disease at the very top levels of the organization. It's not uncommon to hear the CEO verbally abuse or make insinuating comments to a team member in public.

Pros

The Boston office is a great place to be. There's a lot of care that goes into making sure people are comfortable.

Cons

Literally everything else. Low comp for area. Being with the company will give you a constant underlying sense of nervousness. One minute, you're popping champagne over sushi dinners and traveling to the south of France. The next, you are listening to the CEO berate, make up of, and threaten to fire everyone at a kick off to only fire 40 people 2 weeks before Christmas. No one ever has a good sense of how the company is actually doing in regards to number due to the revolving door of leadership; especially for the sales team. Metrics are constantly changing and quotas are unrealistic. An underlying culture of fear dominates the American team. If you want to progress, learn a new skill, or even collaborate cross functionally, good luck. There is a spirit of secrecy and distrust that I would love the go further into detail to, but the the suspiciously high positive reviews can tell you more than I can.

Pros

The coworkers and other lower level employees are honestly some of the most kind and hardworking people you will meet. I can't say enough good things about them and that is the only reason I will even offer this place 1 star.

Cons

Well first of all, the reviews are skewed. As part of my onboarding process, I was asked to write a good review on Glassdoor which I was uncomfortable with since I hadn't started yet. Management is awful. Micro manage you, rude, think they're above all. Newsflash- just because you have a higher pay grade doesn't mean you are better than anyone. Working in sales can be high pressure, naturally, but there is no reason to make selling this product a chore. Leads would ask questions and we essentially had to dance around certain questions, such as price and demo. How can you expect people to want to purchase a product that they don't know the price or functionalities of? To a lead or someone inquiring about the product, it comes off as extremely sketchy. The product itself? It's alright. I've seen worse but I've also seen better. They fire employees cruelly and with no warning. Yes, at will employment does technically work like that, but there are much more professional and nicer ways to go about this. Hard working employees get fired left and right with no explanation, yet the awful management is where the real problems lie and they all refuse to acknowledge their own issues and just blame the lower level employees who are just trying to make a buck.

We do not tolerate or promote micromanagement or condone this management style. As a quickly scaling company, we acknowledge that we have things to work on; however, we hold ourselves accountable to act responsibly and consider the impact of actions across teams. We aim to set high ethical standards for our senior management team to ensure our leaders manage their teams with empathy and respect. Holding ourselves accountable to these high ethical standards, we in no way solicit reviews in our favor. We'd welcome the opportunity to discuss further your concerns and frustrations on how we can continue to make Mirakl a great place to work for all our employees. – The People Team
