Pros

I have had the opportunity to connect with a population of people where I feel appreciated and valued. I work with a team of knowledgeable individuals who do not hesitate to lend a helping hand to make the experience for our members the best it could be. I could not have dreamed of a better position that allows me to be professional, passionate, and serve my community.

Cons

Some may view it as a con, but I absolutely enjoy the freedom of not pushing papers behind a desk all day so working from home and traveling to see members is a great balance.

Pros

1. The support from other nurses, supervisors and director. Someone is always there to answer a question either via IM, email, or phone call. I have never felt that my question was a 'dumb' question. 2. Flexible schedule! Working at home--can't beat that! I'm able to take my kids to/from school daily, make it to activities, etc. 3. Excellent benefits. Better package than any facility around where I live. 4. Friendships with coworkers even though you don't see each other! Rapport is great and work can be FUN! 5. The ability to help members really change their lives. You aren't 'just a nurse'. You are a friend, a confidant, a self esteem booster. You can be the person who helps someone get clean and sober! d

Cons

1. Nurses generally don't get to work at a home office. For someone who likes to be around people at work, this could be a con. I have days where it's a pro and a con. Hard to get used to when you first start but management preps you, follows up with you, and helps you any way they can to make the transition a smooth one. 2. No face-to-face communication except during training. However, there are many conference calls, meetings, emails, etc that allow for proper communication.
