Pros

100% ability to work from home. CTO is a great leader and manager. Opportunities to take on interesting projects. Smart coworkers.

Cons

No funding. High turnover in marketing and finance position reporting into the CEO. CTO just resigned. CEO is inconsistently engaged; disrupts progress when present.

Thank you for your feedback. QLess closed a $3.5M funding less than 4 months ago (see press release). In the fall of 2015, QLess made a significant upgrade to the marketing staff to meet the demands of our expansion and growth. Historically, the finance department has always been outsourced so that the savings could be spent in the continued development of our platform. Yet with our continued growth, we recently opened our first requisition for a full-time CFO. As CEO of a company with QLess’ growth, I do have to spread myself across many departments as we continue to grow our team and operations. As Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds. As for disruption --everything we do at QLess is about disrupting the status quo. People had been standing in line for thousands of years until we came around to disrupt that! We have and will continue to have an outstanding CTO. To the title of your review: nobody was ever laid off at QLess in our entire company history, a fact that not even Google or Apple can boast of. In closing, all earned bonuses have been paid. With the current growth rate of over 100% a year, revenue retention over 100%, employee retention over 90%, and over 1,600 years returned to over 60,000,000 users in 5 continents, QLess’ numbers speak for themselves.

Stay Away from this Company both as an Employee and Customer

Pros

None to think of, other than there are some good people there stuck in a bad situation

Cons

Product cannot support large customers. If you receive a demo and it fails during a demo, that should be all you need to know.

This review was clearly written by somebody who doesn't know what they're talking about. They wrote themselves they didn't last a year at QLess. Let's state the relevant facts: 1. QLess supports larger customers than some public companies 2. QLess revenue retention has been over 100% this year 3. Our app is rated 4.9 out of 5 in the app store 4. Our clients get consistent 5-star reviews on Yelp, which mention QLess. 5. QLess was crowned with the Gold Stevie for the Best Small Computer Services Company in America at the last six (6) American Business Awards, and as the Best Small Computer Services Company in the world at 3 of the last 4 International Business Awards. 6. Over the years, 90% of employees have chosen to stay. Add it all up, and one might conclude that the only bad thing about QLess is losing your job there within your first year as a Liberator. Indeed, QLess is not for everyone. We are a dedicated team, passionate about eliminating standing in line from the face of the Earth, we're very selective, and not everybody makes it. But many of the employees have been there for many years.

Not enough negative words to encompass the depth of it

Pros

They have healthcare. You'll need it.

Cons

I used healthcare as a pro because this place will make you physically sick, depressed, and leave you on the verge of a breakdown. The management is toxic and callous. I can tell you that I know the developer that left the other review and he's spot on about everything. I'd say that the CEO is another Travis Kalanick.

Notice how every review from current employees is 4 or 5 stars, with an average of 4.7 stars? And how reviews from terminated employees tend to give 1 star? Draw your own conclusions. It seems QLess is an awesome place to work at, and that it's not a good place for poor performers. The person who wrote this review was terminated due to bad performance. We don't terminate many people so it's easy to tell-- Indeed, if you don't perform and you don't like to work, you won't be happy at QLess. This particular person actually asked to keep working here, so all he is angry about is not being able to work here anymore. That's normal. Sherrie Bourg Carter, psychologist and workplace expert, writes "Most fired people report feeling a whirlwind of emotions, but the most typical are denial, shock, sadness, anxiety and anger." (The Psychology of Being Fired, US News & World Report, 2014). Let me give readers some facts: 1. 100% employee retention throughout 2017 2. We survey the entire company anonymously every week. As of the last survey on Liberator (employee) happiness, last month, the most common answer was 8 out of 10. 3. We recently asked all of our employees how likely they would be to refer someone to work here. The most common response was 10 out 10. As you can see, QLess is a great place to work for current employees and high performers. Join the Liberation and talk to our current fellow Liberators to learn what they love at QLess!
