Pros

Neat product and a lot of bright people. Great company name to have on your resume. They offer excellent product discounts to employees! Casual dress is an option.

Cons

I constantly heard from management that they wanted people to be open and give candid feedback, but I consistently saw that co-workers who did not agree with management really dug their own graves. Work life balance is below average..... employees are expected to work from 55-65 hours a week on average. Higher pay is given to people coming in, not those who were hired in earlier. Deserved increases are only offered to people in the form of counter offers when they resign. Only 2 weeks vacation, and for several years I worked there, there was never a day I didn't need to log in on vacation. No one has time to give feedback so employees do not get it until end of year review time.

Pros

Rosetta Stone is an exciting product. It takes a different approach to language learning. You would expect when you are selling a product that teaches the world to communicate, you would have the opportunity to make advertising that is exciting and fresh.

Cons

Rosetta Stone sticks to old selling methods like annoying infomercials and discount selling. Senior management is afraid to step up, do something exciting with their marketing messaging and act like the language learning category leader. Harrisonburg is a small town, and the company takes advantage of that. Even though they are an international company, they will pay you what they guy at the local newspaper with the same job title is getting paid. If you want to work for another international company, you have to move out of town; and they know it. Rosetta Stone doesn't value their employees based one what they can do with their own two hands. They don't value their emplyee's craft or ideas, instead they value them based on how many people they manage. So if you love to make things and want to spend your days getting better at making amazing things, go work somewhere else.

Cons

-Severe lack of communication. -When communication does happen, it is via phone, skirting legal boundaries -Poor follow-up and management training -Negative reinforcement above individual Store Manager level. -No help offered (other than words) to relocating employees -Favorites played among employees (not based on performance or experience) -Failure to uphold basic values that the company claims to follow. -Demoralization of kiosk employees by upper management
