Pros

You're not expected to work over 40 hours. Compensation is fair.

Cons

Boring, understimulating, micromanagement, very outdated and old processes, management is stale and most have only worked there or similiar entities, heavy exec team, not a positive or employee friendly office culture. It's a private company tied tightly to government processes and govt compliance so that's the environment it is, very stale and not innovative at all. Doing things differently (more smart or efficient) is greeting by a lot of push back and excessive meetings. Mostly because the senior management and execs don't know how to do things differently and very much enjoy their jobs so they are adverse to change. Re: Benefits- highest deductible and most expensive plan i've ever had. They try to subsidize the deductible but it's still very high, the employee still pays a couple thousand towards the deductible.

We are sad to hear that you had such a negative experience working for TMF Health Quality Institute, and care about the overall well-being of our employees. Employees are encouraged to share their ideas in several ways, which include using the suggestion box on site, emailing their managers, executive staff members or HR, or by communicating via phone or in person. In addition, our biannual employee engagement survey has assisted in improving and growing our benefits program over the years. We value the opinion of our employees. Managers conduct weekly one-on-ones in order to receive feedback from each employee on his/her workload, training opportunities available, and to assist the team in the best way possible. If a manager is not providing feedback, it’s important for the employee to use the in-house reporting features to communicate the lack of work. TMF Health Quality Institute is proud of its commitment to providing competitive health insurance, retirement planning options, and paid time off to its employees. We believe that our rates are competitive with the job market, and encourage employees who do not understand their benefits to meet with an HR Representative for clarification.

We are sad to hear that you had such a negative experience working for TMF Health Quality Institute, and care about the overall well-being of our employees. As discussed during the hiring process, positions with our organization are tied to specific contracts, and those contracts change. Although we can’t guarantee transfers if a position is eliminated, the TMF HR team works closely with project directors to maintain our highly skilled staff members. Career ladder promotions are at the discretion of Program Directors and their respective budgets; we recommend reaching out to your manager for more information. Employees also have the opportunity to interview for and be promoted when a new position is created and posted; all employees receive notification of the new opportunities via company emails. If you are not receiving new position emails, please reach out to IT for further assistance or refer to the policy, as outlined in the HR Manual.

Pros

I met (remotely) great coworkers, each of whom has different strengths, and we all helped each other. Collaboration was really strong.

Cons

Manager was completely driven by politics, and quick to fire staff (I was the third in 3 months). I often had no work, with absolutely nothing to do ( mean that literally!), but was being paid on the taxpayer's dime and was very frustrated.
