Pros

Tend has state of the art technology and tools for diagnosing. The member experience is truly unmatched and patients really get pampered in a spa like environment. Full benefits and a sign on bonus, but you only get half of that bonus and the other half after 6 months with the company, something they don’t tell you until after you are hired. You don’t have to worry about uniforms, which is nice.

Cons

30 minute lunch breaks, no fluid systems with several dental assistants and hygienists. If you’re a DA, be prepared for half of your role to be dedicated to hygienists and their needs, because they are a priority and a provider. You will have to pay for your own parking unless you have the option of public transportation. They tell you you’ll work one Saturday a month, which is not true, you will work more. Little to no opportunity for growth or development. You’re just another brick in the wall. I had faith that Tend was not like the other DSOs (great expressions, PDS, coast) but they are no different. Tend says they’re “provider obsessed” but forget it. If you’re a DA, you’re a work horse.

Pros

Offices are modern and so is equipment

Cons

Tend advertises the company as a modern practice that really values their patients and their staff. The company sells dreams because once you work here, it is nothing like the advertisements. Managers are liars and will take advantage of you. Doctors are rude and micromanage. You will be overworked and have to stay late and have no breaks despite working close to 12 hours. Avoid this place for your mental well-being and self dignity. The staff turn over for this company is huge and growing.

Tend sells you dreams

I wouldn’t say there are any.

Cons

High staff turnaround, treats you like you’re just a number, switched good benefits to poor benefits during pandemic, they don’t care about staffs needs, barely get any lunch breaks, overly packed schedule not enough staff, barely any ppe for staff during pandemic, only cares about their imagine in the eyes of the patients and society but it’s not all what it seems to be behind closed doors.
