Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re proud to hear that you’ve found value in the compensation, patient base, and clinical environment at Tend—those are all things we want every provider to experience. At the same time, I take seriously the concerns you raised around culture, turnover, and how we balance our focus on growth with ensuring both our patients and our team members feel prioritized. Our goal is always to create a supportive, patient-first environment where clinicians can practice at the highest standard of care while also feeling fulfilled in their careers. We know that means continuing to strengthen leadership, improve retention, and listen closely to feedback like yours. If you’re open to it, I’d truly appreciate the opportunity to learn more from you directly. You can reach me anytime at miriam@hellotend.com With gratitude, Miriam Scholes Chief People Officer

Pros

The main pro from a company standpoint, is the rate of pay. If you are lucky and have a good manager, who was able to put together a decent team, it can be a positive to work with some people.

Cons

If you are looking for a work life balance, you don't get it here. Unless you get yourself a second phone, or turn off yours when you aren't in the office. With the studio being open from 6:30am to 8:30pm, even if you aren't scheduled to do a double, you will more likely than not be bothered outside your scheduled shift regularly. I was also told by my superior after I was given more responsibility, that I would be expected to do overtime weekly and put in more than my Full Time 40hrs a week, but that I would not be compensated additionally for that time. A large majority of the executive team does not reside in any of the markets the teams are established in. They are regularly being transported via train and plane between their home state and the studio markets that are operated out of. Additionally, for a company that boasts and 'prides' itself on diversity, there is a visible lack of diversity within the executive and hub teams. They like to use the diverse studio teams as the face of their diversity, but the people calling all the shots are not the same. There is clear favoritism, and unless you just do exactly what you're told and don't complain or speak up for yourself or those around you, it is very unlikely that there will be any opportunity for advancement. If you do voice concerns, through a manager or the anonymous platform, you are labeled as 'difficult to work with'. Feedback for upper management did not ever feel welcomed, it felt more like you were putting a target on your back.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. While it’s always tough to read feedback like this, we genuinely appreciate the honesty - it's the only way we can improve. We’re glad to know you've been happy with your compensation and working alongside a good team. We know how much leadership and team dynamics matter, and we’re grateful to those managers across Tend who are creating supportive, high-performing environments. That said, we also want to acknowledge the concerns you’ve raised, particularly around work-life balance, expectations around overtime, opportunities for advancement, and the experience of giving upward feedback. As we continue to grow and evolve, we’re actively working on: - Clarifying expectations around hours and availability - including ensuring that overtime is fair, transparent, and never exploitive. - Strengthening feedback loops so team members feel safe, heard, and empowered to speak up without fear of retaliation. - Advancing equity and representation at all levels of the company, including at the executive and Hub team level. While we’re proud of the diversity across our studios, we know that’s only part of the picture - and there’s more work to do. We know that experiences like yours can’t be fixed with words alone but we’re committed to meaningful action so if you'd like to discuss your concerns further, please feel free to email us at people@hellotend.com. Thank you again for your candor and for being part of the Tend journey. Warmly, Miriam

Pros

Excellent culture at the home office, the team actually takes an hour break to sit and eat lunch and chat. Team is very supportive and pleasant, you're allowed to have a bad day. Trustworthy and transparent dynamics. Changes in leadership recently have all turned out to be positive changes.

Cons

Christmas Eve is not a holiday which seems silly. Pay and benefits are just okay.
