Pros

Very family oriented. PTO for part time. There seems to be a genuine concern for employees. Many bonus and trip opportunities that can be achieved if you are persistent and diligent. Management is hardworking and very loyal. 401k contribution matching. Hard work gets noticed and appreciated.

Cons

Tom James is growing so fast that they can hardly adjust to the growth. There is so much emphasis on sales team growth that the support staff is neglected. Support staff is not generally included in bonus opportunities, stock options or trips. Offices can feel segregated between sales team and administrative staff.

Pros

The people you work with are usually great (it's like a huge family). This is nice as the company has 2 large meetings where everyone from the company meets for a week and gets pumped up for more sales. Great relationships are formed during these meetings! Also- the network you create with your clients is truly impressive.

Cons

It's a pure commission pay structure which means you need to be incredibly motivated and ALWAYS working towards a goal. This isn't bad until every single month you have to recharge yourself to keep going since the sales quota starts over every month. Also, you get your own clients through visual prospecting (stopping people in the street to get their business cards), referrals, or cold calling.

The people they are amazing to work, good benefits, flexible hours. A lot of freedom and flexibility but that all depends on your team...

Cons

Extremely low compensation. corporate doesn't consider the cost of living in different areas. The pay is overall the same and let's be honest a place like DC, LA or NY is a lot more expensive to live in than say Nashville TN!
