The people work together as a team. The Managers are transparent and discussions are open and conflict is healthy.

Cons

The company is growing. Therefore, not all procedures and documentation is in place yet.

Pros

Ulteig is full of smart and hard-working engineers. Technical managers are great at pairing newer engineers with more experienced ones, and if you ever need help everyone is willing to provide it.

Cons

This is a consulting firm, and often times clients tend to be less understanding towards us compared to what an engineer would experience working directly for an energy supplier.

Extremely high employee turnover. Culture has taken a nosedive. Pay has fallen below industry average by a significant amount. Too many management levels causes a disconnect between the engineers/designers and upper level management. The company seems to care more about its perceived image rather than employee happiness. There are major barriers to advancement within the company.

We are always looking for opportunities to improve, and everyone’s experience is different - but I will say that we measure our employee engagement quarterly, and our current score is well above the level considered to be top quartile relative to our global benchmark. We also recently completed a review of our pay levels with an external expert provider and found them to be competitive, and not out of line, with the industry.
