Pros

Company salary is well above what many companies are willing to pay for similar roles. They also offer unmatched benefits. 10% of your salary is contributed to a 401k without impacting your current pay, however there is a vesting schedule for the funds. Vanguard also offers extensive training. Another benefit is Vanguards willingness to let you follow your career goals. If you want to take the CFA, they will enable that for you. Lastly, they are one of the few companies that won’t post phony reviews on glassdor, so keep that in mind.

Cons

Stop hiring VADP managers.

Pros

This role allows you to gain first-hand experience in managing client relationships, providing investment guidance to help clients find financial success, and building investment acumen. Another plus is that you get to work for and represent a first-class company. Clients appreciate the Vanguard brand, and you know you don't have to sell the investment philosophy.

Cons

Clearly, in customer relations at such a large company, you are tied to the phones. You have to know this going into the role. The real downside is that there is no breakup in your day-to-day; no side projects, no real opportunity to work on other initiatives.

Pros

Great benefits, leave compensation, tuition assistance $9k per year. 10% of salary contributed to 401k each year but not fully vested until 6 years.

Cons

Middle managers (VADP) are destroying the company. It is every seasoned professionals worst nightmare to have a young ,inexperienced manager with no real "leadership" experience, live out her learning curve at your expense. I am basically teaching (the hard way) my leader to lead and not manage. She has zero people skills and covers up her lack of professionalism by "talking the talk". If this is your fear DO NOT COME TO VANGUARD! Systems and processes are a nightmare for clients. It is remarkable that they stay with us like they do with how severe the errors are.
