Pros

Young, passionate people pushing for what they believe in. Lots of fun, planned, after-hours activities and everyone gets along. Plenty of opportunity to voice opinions and enact change. Open, creative atmosphere.

Cons

Can have days with long hours, and expected to always be "on," but the benefits far outweigh the demands of the job.

Pros

Being part of such a fast growing company has allowed me to develop a set of technical, professional and personal skills that will benefit me through out my entire career. This is a company is constantly evolving which is one of the many reason for its success. Hard work is noticed and rewarded.

Cons

Communication between departments could improve. Define company and employee goals.

Thanks for your review. I have so much respect for everyone on our Support team for the work that you do. The product knowledge, empathy and patience that is require to serve our customers is admirable, so its refreshing to know that it's being rewarded appropriately! Thanks for calling out the communication between departments as an area of improvement. We agree. I hope it's gotten better over the past year as we've made this a focus for our business, but definitely understand that there's more work to do. I promise that we'll keep working to be better in this area! Austin

Pros

First and foremost, the culture at dotloop is absolutely phenomenal! We are a family. I have never worked with so many passion-driven individuals who are all on the same path as far as success and growth. We grow together, and we grow dotloop - which is exactly how it should be! This is a great place to make a career. Opportunity arises constantly. Management is supportive and willing to help you achieve your personal goals. They let you learn from your mistakes - fail forward. Benefits are excellent! Upper management actually listens to the employee voice. Completely focused on customer satisfaction and success.

Cons

While I stated that this is a great place to make a career, some individuals may struggle because you essentially have to determine your own path. There are no set career paths, so you never really know in which direction you are headed. I personally enjoy this, I like creating my future, but others enjoy the security in knowing what the next step is. Communication between departments could improve - but I know that this is something we are working towards. I feel that at times, we lose sight of focusing on the few things that matter most- our product in specific. I feel like we are adding things to our site before some of our core functionality issues have been completely resolved.

Thanks for this thoughtful review, and I'm so glad that you feel at home in our culture! As you mentioned, we continue to work on improving cross-departmental communication as well as focusing on the few things that matter most. I'm confident that you will see big improvements on both fronts with the introduction of our new project teams, as discussed in the all-hands FYI meeting last week. That said, we still have work to do and I can assure you that we won't stop until we get it right. Onward! Austin

Work for a fun-loving tech company that is changing an industry.

Pros

Dotloop has all of the perks of a large tech company (free snacks, pool and ping pong tables, gym memberships, etc.), but it maintains the work-ethic of a small start-up. The company was recently bought by Zillow Group, so it has the backing to do big things. Transaction Management is a hot button issue in Real Estate right now and I truly feel like I'm on the right side of the fight. Its so exciting to watch an entire industry change its way of business and finally embrace technology.

Cons

There's so much going on in the office that it can often be distracting. You have to be skilled at zoning into the work that needs to get done. You can see people easily get lost in the mix and become unmotivated. Also, the benefits are amazing, but the salaries leave much to be desired.

Thank you for this review. Your point about focusing on the right things internally is a good one. It's also great to hear that you are enjoying our new Zillow Group benefits! As for compensation, we will continue to evaluate all employees against market to stay competitive. More information on this topic is forthcoming during annual reviews in Q1. Lastly, we appreciate hearing your management advice. We will work this into our bi-weekly FYI Meetings and future quarterly Rallies. Austin, Founder/GM of dotloop.

Pros

Awesome culture & great people to work with - this is something that is of high value in this day and age. People want to be able to relate and get along well with others in a fun environment where they work to beat the monotony of a typical office. By the end of your first day as a dotloop employee, you will see that people are very welcoming and will try to include you! If you are looking for an office where you can develop a family atmosphere with your co-workers, dotloop is definitely one of those places! Awesome office - very unique 2 floors connected by staircase keeping the feel that we are all together, not separated. Amazing benefits - the benefits that we get as employees are amazing! There's too many to list, just know that when you accept a position with dotloop, you will be more happy with the benefits! One of my favorites (but definitely not everyone's) is that your career path is set by you. If you start in customer support or sales (which many of us do), and you don't move up, that is mostly on you. If you work hard, show initiative, and let your superiors know of your intentions to grow within dotloop, you will do just that. I think I am a pretty good testament to that situation: been here about 10 months (at the time of me posting this) worked hard, and was awarded a promotion out of my current department to another one. Upper management does an outstanding job of enabling their employees to grow, which is not typical of many companies. Bottom line: If you take a position with dotloop, it very quickly can become a company you can see yourself working for as your career, not a job.

Cons

Communication. There are times when inter-departmental communication can become convoluted, making it hard to get quick answers for problems...especially in the customer support department.

Thank you for this very thoughtful and thorough review. We will continue to prioritize inter-departmental communication internally, as this tends to be a "moving target" within any rapidly growing organization. Lastly, it's great to see that you've been able to take advantage of growth opportunities this early in your career at dotloop. Congratulations! Austin, Founder/GM of dotloop.

Pros

Within this company there are many perks. The benefits/health insurance is amazing and it's nice to know they care about the well being of all employees. Free snacks within the office lobby are a perk. A happy hour is set up once a month for every Core Value Winner which shows that the winner is appreciated.

Cons

As a company who prides themselves on certain Core Values, they don't always act with those values in mind. They always will say how valuable of an employee you are and how they cannot wait to get you in a position where you talents will be showcased but will instead hire from the outside. This causes career pathing to be difficult and growth in the company to be infrequent. Turn over rate within certain departments seems to be high because of this.

Thank you for providing this review. It is great to hear that you are enjoying the many dotloop / Zillow Group benefits & perks mentioned above. As for your constructive feedback, you mentioned that we don't always act with our Core Values in mind but didn't cite any specific examples. So it would be much appreciated if you could follow up with me or your supervisor directly on this because I'm not aware of any instances where we are not living by our Core Values. Regarding your experience with career pathing, it is absolutely our intent to provide growth opportunities for every Looper. There are two things in particular that we do to expose new opportunities internally. First, we make every new job posting available for internal candidates to apply and we seriously consider every internal applicant. Second, all dotloop managers are expected to maintain regular dialog with their direct reports about career pathing and growth goals. That said, we do hire external candidates in instances where an external candidate is a better fit and/or more qualified for the open position. In those instances, it is our policy to be very transparent with the internal candidate by providing feedback on why he/she was not selected for the job. If you have experienced something that is inconsistent with the process that I outlined above, please follow up with me directly because we want to make sure that we are positioning every Looper to achieve their career goals and providing transparent feedback along the way.
