Pros

Build focuses on Never Settling, encouraging employees to bring change and create the job they want. Most managers and executives started in entry level positions and grew to their current positions. Pay is great for performers. Build focuses on working hard and celebrating successes by playing hard.

Cons

Those interested in having a "job" may not do well here, there is no acceptance of those who want to put in the minimum required.

Pros

This was my first job after I graduated from Chico State. I was hired as an Inside Sales Rep. Great company. I felt like the culture there was very positive. The motto was "Take care of the customer" and "Principles not policies." They had very clear and attainable sales goals with a commission schedule that created a clear incentive to reward hard work. They really focused on creating a culture of honesty and fairness. They were a rapidly growing internet retail company and they firmly believed in Zappos-like "WOW experience" customer service. I felt like it was a great company to work with. Good sales managers. They almost always chose to err on the side of the customer and believed firmly in creating a pleasant and truthful shopping experience. Good coworkers too.

Cons

I think pay was a little low, but I did get several raises in the 1.5 years I worked there. They were making a LOT of money and seemed to always be hiring and expanding. I do feel that the CEO and Executive Team was sort of an elite circle and I got the impression that they were all making six figures while the rest of us were making something in the low to mid 20's. But still, I was thankful for the job, and I could see that there was genuine opportunity for promotion and learning new skills.

Build.com - Smarter Life Improvement

Pros

Working for Build.com provides many of us with the opportunity to be part of a select few. Those who can say that they love their job. Every morning I wake up and realize that I am being paid to do something I love with my best friends in a place that, at times, seems more like a place to hang out than an actual office. As we as a company continue to grow we as individuals are constantly presented with new opportunities to grow and advance in our careers and in our lives. There is honestly no other place in Chico that I would rather work.

Cons

With growth comes change. As the company continues to grow the processes that are in place to help all of us do our jobs begin to slow down. We are experiencing a period of such rapid growth that, at times, we are hard pressed to "keep up" with our growing needs. This can, and usually proves to be, a frustrating road block.
