Pros

Salary Bonus Benefits Work From Home (for now)

Cons

This company used to be great. People clamored to get in the door to work at the best company in Dayton! In mid-2019 things changed. Every one with eyes to see in the company noticed the fall-off of executives leaving between 2018 and today. There may be 3 original VPs still onboard from that time. Unfortunately those who left took the morale and HEART of the company with them. Today, CareSource is a business, not a non-profit. Our members are numbers and analytics, not people who need us. The unspoken motto is: “Get your numbers up or you’re out.” It’s sad. Morale is low and I’ve spoken to several people saying they are staying only for the bonus. At a time in history where almost everyone is stressed and many people are dealing with depression or anxiety, it is hard to see CareSource went from a company with heart to being more about profit over people. Let me touch on management. The managers here are SO bad. Many of them are far less qualified than the people they manage. There are way too many micro-managers and the worker bees are miserable. The 1:1 meetings and Skip-Level meetings are non-existent except for a few leaders that remember the old style. Employees are talked down to and made to feel subservient. This is mostly from the newly anointed snr directors and associate vp and their adherents. Yet in every All-Staff (twice a year now instead of quarterly), we hear HR talk about “opportunities”, it’s a joke. I love CareSource but the glory days are gone. Work here with the understanding that you’ll be paid well, but the price is your family, your well-being, and your soul.

Pros

My team was always the best and most encouraging part. We always had each other's back. Even when we were all drowning, we all knew it, so we were there when we could be.

Cons

The job started out as promised with a caseload of 75-90 member max. I now have 160 members and am told it will be climbing to over 200 with no hiring in site of other help. We have told management we are very overwhelmed and this is too much for one person, but are dismissed. Micromanaging is on a level I have never experienced at any company. I have left jobs before for feeling my license was at risk, or that I was not in agreement with policies, but I have never wanted to leave a company for how they have made me feel as a person. I have now been placed on severe anxiety medication because of the stress and pressure management has put on us for this job. I thought this would be where I was going to make a home and retire. What was going to be best for my family. It is a shame that in the last 6 months, it has become more about keeping up with the other insurance companies than worrying about their staff.

Pros

Work from home, little driving

Cons

Horrible new EMR, RIF 100 people in one day, lots of meeting, lots of training, lots of questions for members who rarely answer their phones, few resources to help members, labor intensive new EMR, state in mission that they care about employees, no room for growth, ineffective procedures, ineffective management.
