Pros

- Ability to get your foot in the door at a another company.

Cons

- Pay was $10-15K/year less than average for the position. - Your account manager can't do anything for you if there are problems with your contracted Company. - Sick Time. You get 40hrs for the year, but they hide this from you during orientation and on their timesheet platform to deceptively make you use Vacation time for it. - Vacation time (Pro and Con). You're given 80hrs of "Vacation time" and 24hrs of "Variable time" for the year. However, this is a gimmick. Vacation time and Variable time is accrued for the year, even though it's given to you upfront. Vacation is earned at a rate of 6.66hrs/month worked. Variable is earned 8hrs/4months worked. BUT THERE'S A CATCH! You have to use your vacation days to cover holidays that your contracted company takes, but CTG doesn't. (Ex: Contracted Company has Christmas Day and the Day after as Holiday. But CTG only has Christmas Day off. CTG will force you to use your vacation day to cover the hours. Because of this, my 80hrs of yearly vacation was actually only 32hrs because I had to use them to cover my contracted company's holidays.) They do this because they say it's "unfair" to other people who are contracted to other companies, which is a sorry excuse. They're lazy and greedy. Every account manager can approve the vacation times and go by their Contracted Company, but they don't want to pay you to have your actual time off. ALSO, if you use more vacation & variable time than accrued before you leave (quit/hired directly/fired), they will take it out of your final paycheck or charge you if your paycheck doesn't cover the amount. - Benefits are a joke: Healthcare is the same cost than healthcare.gov options (it's even MORE expensive than the government site when adding someone on a plan), No dental, Vision is ok, No match on 401K for 2 years then a measly 1% after that through Fidelity. - HR is useless. I was called Cancer by my CTG account manager because I called her and our Contracted Company Manager out for going against policy. (They were best friends who bullied people into submission with their managerial power.) Called HR about it, they never called back. Since then, this manager was directly onboarded to the company she was contracted to (no surprise given the friendship).

We appreciate the time you took to provide thorough feedback, and understand you have a number of concerns with your experience. We promote our familial environment because it’s one of the top reasons CTG continues to be certified as a Great Place to Work. In fact, our employees cited the people, management, and culture as the top three things that makes CTG a Great Place to Work in our most recent survey. We are disheartened that your concerns weren’t resolved while you were employed here. All members of the HR team are responsive to concerns and are available to field any questions employees may have. Employees have many communication vehicles available to resolve issues: any manager, any executive, any member of HR is willing to listen and assist. We wish you the best.

Thank you for feedback! We’re excited about all the fun, cool, and challenging positions CTG has to offer. Our increased presence in the digital transformation world has led to many stimulating opportunities for our employees. You mentioned our flexibility, and at CTG, we want employees to be satisfied in both their professional and personal lives. As a result, work/life balance is something we focus on. Our CEO, Filip Gyde, has a mantra, “happy people produce quality work”. We feel people are happiest when they are equally fulfilled at work and at home, without struggling to meet the obligations of each. In terms of pay, we do offer different employment options and benefits packages so that employees can choose a package that best fits their individual needs. We wish you well in your career at CTG!

Pros

They do most things through email, which is great if you're not a 'phone person'.

Cons

Benefits package is the worst I've seen (would cost me about 1/3 of my take-home pay to cover myself and my medical needs). You are basically paying out of pocket for everything so unless you are perfectly healthy, you are immediately thrown back under poverty line. Christmas... not paid, Thanksgiving... not paid, New Years... not paid You are forced to be out of work and not get paid. 401k, no matching No Vacation No sick time (unless you're located in a state that mandates it). You hear all about how well the company is doing and how they are expanding thanks to the money they make off of you. You are just a pawn to earn them money but don't expect the company to care about you. They get paid for every hour you work hard and offer absolutely nothing in return.

Thank you for taking the time to submit feedback. It’s clear you felt our benefits package did not meet your needs. Varying benefit and time off packages are offered to serve the diverse needs of our employees. We agree that CTG’s success begins and ends with our employees; they are the lifeblood of the company. In return for their invaluable contributions to CTG, the company aims to provide a Great Place to Work with a positive, engaging, and supportive work environment. We encourage any employee who is unhappy in their role to discuss their concerns with their manager.

Pros

I have a 401K now

Cons

No matching of the 401k No opportunity for advancement No reviews for raises As Colorado has increased the minimum wage, the employees have not seen a raise in pay to keep with the cost of living increase created by increased minimum wage Hourly employees are not provided dental insurance. Hourly employees have the lowest possible coverage for health insurance Concerns raised regarding pay or better benefits are not considered PTO does not increase with your time with the company. After more than 5 years with the company, I would expect to have had a raise more than once We are all very expendable

We appreciate the time you took to send your thoughts. You mentioned the surveys we send out, so we’d like to take this opportunity to highlight our Great Place to Work focus group that has been in place for the past two years. This focus group consists of employees from various departments and lines of business within CTG. Its goal is to analyze the results of our annual Great Place to Work survey and identify key areas of opportunity we can improve upon. The group provides actionable ideas and constructive criticism to our leadership team. The feedback from this focus group has been invaluable, as it provides a perspective that represents our employee population. Several topics the focus group is currently discussing echo ones you listed, such as 401(k), PTO, and salary increases. Employees with suggestions for improvement are encouraged to discuss their ideas with their manager or a member of our leadership team.

Cons

We appreciate all the attributes you highlighted in your feedback! Thank you for calling out benefits, as our benefits team works hard to design competitive, affordable, and unique offerings to our employees. The flexible scheduling and fun atmosphere are all a part of the work/life balance we strive to achieve. We want it to be easy for employees to fulfill home and work obligations, and have a blast while doing so! In terms of communication, our executive leadership team made increased communication a priority the past year. With so many employees working remotely, we knew communication was essential to maintaining our connection with everyone. Communication was amped up through social media (be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn!) and increased the frequency of our town hall and all-hands meetings. Employees who are unable to attend the calls are encouraged to listen to the recordings found on our intranet. We wish you the best of luck in the future!

CTG is a contract employment company. They do their best to negotiate high wages. They give you hourly or salary employment options. Your manager is hands off or engages as needed.

Thank you for recognizing CTG as a Great Place to Work! We are quite proud of the 2021 Great Place to Work certifications earned by our locations in the US, Belgium, Luxembourg, UK, and France. These certifications not only support our vision to be the preferred career destination for IT experts, but also validate the rewarding workplace culture we have built for over 50 years. In terms of benefits costs, our Benefits team is constantly comparing our benefits cost and coverage to the market. We know that affordable, comprehensive coverage is important to our employees; we were delighted that we could reduce the employee benefits cost for the past two consecutive years. We’re proud you’re a part of our CTG team!

Pros

Steady work, no benefits to speak of because insurance that covers nothing is useless.

Cons

Atmosphere of a sweat shop. IBM is full of little tyrants that have their friends, and female leads will do anything for a guy that gives them the time of day.
