Pros

Very high emphasis on integrity, diversity, and inclusion. Not just buzzwords. Mission and Vision that inspires pride. Training for the military in its defense division, and creating technology for public transit in its transportation division. Long history with lots of institutional knowledge, but also a knack for innovation.

Cons

Pro or con depending on the person, but Cubic relies on each employee to be a self-starter and manage their own time and organization. Still catching up on tools and processes after recent growth (2017-20). Could be opportunity for someone willing to take ownership and lead.

Pros

+ There are some training opportunities

Cons

- Mid Management are not empowered to make decisions and do not make a real impact because they are not listened to. - Higher management make rash decisions, and when they go wrong they back pedal and appear incompetent. - There is no passion in their projects. Everything is Minimum Viable Product. - The pay is very low compared to similar jobs elsewhere. - Management actively refuse change. Stuck in the old days. - Refuse to allow employees to spend time knowledge sharing, however they are desperate to share knowledge as soon as it starts to disappear.

Cubic suffers from vast dysfunction and inequality between groups

Pros

If you are in the right group, you may get lunches/team building/management engagement.

Cons

- There was a continual concern of job security. Cubic would often have "advisors" in to determine which jobs could be eliminated or out-sourced. - Groups within Cubic are treated vastly differently - certain favored groups get lunches/team building days/etc. - other groups get nothing - Career development is non-existent; Cubic has on numerous occasions shown they would prefer to hire from outside than train and develop internally - Training of any kind is discouraged; usually, financial constraints are sited for denying training - Talent is not recognized or rewarded; individuals are often ignored until they resign - then and only then do they offer more money and a new position/title - Middle management feels powerless to assist employees with any career/position assistance; I voiced my desire to move to a new position and possibly advance my career, but my manager gave me no advice or help - Internal recruitment ignores internal applications; further proof the company would much prefer to hire from outside than promote internally - Individuals are "awarded" job titles and advancement for political reasons only; I knew numerous individuals that had job titles that in no way related to their knowledge or abilities - C-suite changes often cause projects to be canceled at about 80% complete; directions in my area change every time there is a C-suite is appointed; this happens often - Volatile work environment - I had numerous managers in the years I worked there. Most of the managers were not engaged and either left the company or were dismissed.

Pros

Growing company with room to advance.

Cons

As an intern I was left to work on my own most of the time. I had hoped to get a lot more mentoring and on the job training.

Pros

The leaders at Cubic genuinely care for the employees, customers, and community. Employees are encouraged to share ideas, innovate, take ownership, collaborate, and find solutions for the company and customers. This has been even more evident during the Coronavirus pandemic. Employees that are able to work remotely have been accommodated to ensure that they are safe and continue supporting the customers. Additionally, one of Cubic's manufacturing facilities, Cubic de Mexico, repurposed sewing equipment to make face masks for global employees and customers. The staff also delivered masks to local hospitals and first responders. Other efforts included making medical ventilators and creating a 3D immersive training to prepare medical staff to operate ventilators. I am very proud to be part of an innovative company that cares for its employees, customers, and community.

Cons

The nature of the contract business; however, this is a challenge that all Defense contractors face.

Pros

There is interculturality in the company. The diversity of people is really good.

Cons

-There is no real opportunity to progress according to your skills and results. If someone progresses inside the company is because of that decision was taken subjectively. -There is no good organizational design. -HR is not trustworthy. As the department "of the people" has not metrics, career plans, periodic training, capacitation and a good payment base on your job and functions. -Leadership is bad. They don't know how to guide people, how to be a good example and inspire. Good criteria to make good decisions. -There is no equity on the payment. Some people receive a double salary in the same job than the other one.

Pros

The company has some perks, like every other Friday off. Sales teams are full of great people with high energy.

Cons

There are garden variety gripes that are present in every company - too much mandatory training, and all of the annoying PC stuff that is present all throughout society. The most problematic issue is the instability from company leadership. One of our subordinate companies in the transportation field just had a CEO removed after less than one year in the position, in which he was able to secure a very large international deal that bailed the company out of what would have been a weak year due to pandemic. A number of other senior leaders have been pushed out, and a lot more of them are worried of the same. What do people think happens when all of management is worried they are going to get fired? They look for other jobs, and then everything underneath them falls apart. Leadership has little focus on long-term success, choosing to focus only on short-term survival. Competitors run laps around us in many regards, including better direct support to customers. We are also fully dedicated to the religion of COVID, with employees now being threatened with termination for the slightest violations, which of course "violations" differ from state to state, region to region. One president of a critical sales sector, the one running everyone off, expects every door to be knocked on, while the CEO threatens employment stability with COVID regulations. We are to be aggressive and passive at the same time.
