Fun atmosphere, customers were willing to take suggestions.

Cons

Management is crazy. Cost cutting measures everywhere. No trust of employees. Multiple times I was accused of stealing even though nothing was missing. They said that they put pressure on employees so that they would never want to steal, but it felt more like they just wanted to blame you at all times. The pay was absolutely atrocious, and working there perfectly for 6 months merited no raise according to management. I was offered a higher position, but the pay rase was so small that it was impossible to take the job, the hours were too crazy.

Pros

If you love retail and don't have a degree, then you'll love having your own store. Company turnover is so high that you can easily work your way from seasonal to store manager in a year, especially if you are willing to relocate. Yearly conferences give you a good look into what this industry has to offer, and the experience looks excellent on a resume. As long as you put your best foot forward, and don't give any excuses, your district manager will be one of your best friends. Health benefits are some of the best I have ever seen, and other benefits make the job very desirable for anyone with a small family.

Cons

Gamestop is a rapidly growing company that poorly communicates it's plans. While they may listen to what you have to say, changes come slowly if at all. Prepare to be left in the dark about nearly everything that is important to your job security, then always prepare for the possibly of being burned with little to no notice. Gamestop's salary is the biggest trap ever invented. You'll work at least 44 hours per week, and over 50 hours per week during big release dates. I've worked as many as 81 hours in a single week. While they offer to pay for your schooling, it is literally impossible to finish a college degree while working those hours. You will sacrifice everything to fit this company's schedule into your life, usually with little to no notice. Also, raises are typically lower than the rate of inflation, meaning that you'll actually have less purchasing power each year. That's right, raises are so small that you'll actually have less money each year!

The hours I was working was very flexible. The discounts help and you are allowed to rent out games from them for free.

Cons

The pay is not ver competitive. The job is not as exciting as some people may think.
