Pros

Room for growth in management, great benefits

Cons

Poor management, training is not true, blowing smoke is their specialty. I busted my butt at one hospital, promoted within 6 months to takeover new property, quadrupled retail sales, satisfaction scores went from 40’s to upper 90’s within 30 days, was promised 20% bonus on retail sales over budget. Had $126k in sales over budget in 90 days, never saw a penny was just lied to. Traveled helping the other 12 failing sister properties, was told I was a great director at every property I visited and that I should be a regional, took over a client in Dallas, told I would be making 65k to start by the president, only to find out that was a lie, off by 10k, then they hired a new VP who knew ZERO about culinary, and showed off. I’ll NEVER GO BACK AND I WILL DETER ANYONE FROM WORKIMG FOR THEM.

I’m sorry to hear that you feel that you did not have a positive experience with HHS. The vice president who you are referring to has been with HHS for many years and was very successful in his role as a vice president for some of our hospital accounts before transitioning to senior living. It is true that he did not have much experience in culinary, but with his proven track record we felt confident that he would be successful in this new arena. For the specific account that you are referring to, the customer had some concerns prior to this new VP overseeing the account, and he managed to quickly remedy the issues and improve HHS’ relationship with the customer. Additionally, earlier this year we brought on a new president of senior living who has already made a big impact on our accounts in this industry. I apologize for any confusion regarding your salary, but from speaking with our team member resources department, it is my understanding that any pay discrepancies that may have occurred were corrected and our managers received the salary that they were originally promised. Thank you for your time with HHS and I want to recognize that some of the items that you experienced were controllable on our side and we did not handle them well. I wish you all the best in the future. Joe Terry, CEO

Pros

The only good thing is you get your paycheck, that's it, other than that i can't think of any other good thing about this company.

Cons

Poor management, low rate payment for employees. Management gets all the money . People with no experience in environmental services. No presence of the company or HR at the facility, weekends only 1 or 2 employees for the entire Hospital. Employees get overload all the time with work which was from the shift before.

Thank you for providing your feedback on your experience with HHS. I am providing your feedback to our local team in Orlando to follow up on any outstanding issues that need to be addressed. We bid and staff all of our accounts with adequate staff and pay market wages for each position in our company. In our industry we regularly provide more staffing than that of our competition and most in-house programs across the country. With that being said, if there are sudden increases to the facility’s census or other circumstances that affect the EVS workload it can impact staffing levels, and we would reevaluate staffing and work with our customer to adjust the number of staff needed. Upon hire, all of our managers go through an extensive training program where they gain hands-on experience with all of the daily tasks associated with EVS and become familiar with each of our processes that are in place to ensure high quality outcomes. Once on-site, each of these managers are placed in an assistant position until they are able to be promoted into a director position. Each director has mandated continuing education throughout their career and a strong support network of regional leadership to help support our desired outcomes. Every hourly team member also goes through both initial and continual training. Our training programs and organizational structure are very comprehensive to meet our internal standards, but also to ensure all regulatory compliance. Since I'm hearing that you are experiencing something different than our standards, I encourage you to please utilize the HHS Open Door Policy and reach out to your Vice President or TMR (tmr@hhs1.com) or to me directly so that we can properly address your concerns. Thank you, Joe Terry, CEO

The review posted by this previous employee is appreciated. This individual would have been eligible for paid vacation days based on his or her tenure, therefore any decision not to take a vacation would have been made solely by the individual. It is true that vacation time is not paid out upon termination in states that don’t require it; we regret that this individual was not aware of that policy, and that he or she feels it is unjust. However, we feel it is important that individuals take vacation time, and we encourage them to do so. Unfortunately, we can’t alter the policy based on the confusion or misunderstanding of an individual. Based on the nature of our company and the location of accounts, it is often necessary to relocate. I am not certain of the particulars in this case, since the review is anonymous, however, it is true that relocation is sometimes necessary, every effort is made to accommodate individuals regarding where and when to relocate. It is also recognized that this individual appreciated the good pay and communications. HHS is a solid and successful company with hundreds of salaried management positions, offering long-term employment and advancement opportunities for those who successfully embody our mission. We are committed to supporting work-life balance, which can be difficult in our industry. Our executive group is in the process of seeking out additional ways to help promote work-life balance and ensure appropriate support and resources for all of our team members and leaders throughout the organization.
