Pros

Great Training to pass state exam

Cons

Switch and Bait... Told hours would be Monday through Fridays and then placed on Saturday Sundary schedule. Once I left the company (after completing the season) held up my ability to work for carriers for a full year. Could not get a return call to release.

Overall very good company

Pros

Great work/life balance, Senior Management seems to genuinely care about all levels of operations and staff, managers want you to succeed, very positive atmosphere, and mission oriented. It's very gratifying work for a person who wants to make a positive difference to people that are stressed and confused about Medicare.

Cons

It's not really a "Con" for the company but the industry does not pay well for the Licensed Agent position unless you are part of the very few top producers and usually in the Brokerage division. There are only so many hot leads to go around so it's understandable that the top producers get the top leads but its very hard to break into the top group and you have to make countless calls to people that possibly haven't asked for a call in years.

Pros

Can work remotely from home...

Cons

Cold calling 150-200 +people a day during the slow season. Management wasn't well trained on Medicare rules and compliance. Upper managent had the old school "used car salesperson" mentality. They question your integrity as an agent if you didn't switch a customer's MAPD just because of one non-health benefit that may have been a little better, even though that benefit wasn't even a concern to the customer. They micro-management and even witnessed a manager embarrass a top producer for not typing notes quick enough. That producer went elsewhere soon after that. Lots of turnover. They WILL hold all your appoinments for 6 months when you leave, unless that has changed.
