Not the Worst, Not the Best

Pros

I was able to mentor/manage staff and helped make meaningful changes in processes and KPIs toward corporate goals until my job was eliminated.

Cons

The leadership team is fragmented and disjointed and broken into multiple divisions/departments with differing goals and goals change daily. I had 1 direct manager but often felt I reported not only to my division/department but three other people in another department with different goals than my department/division gave me. I worked, on average, 52-55 hours/week to keep up with the work. I was not trained on common to HealthStream HR functions until after 6 months. The only way to keep myself sane was to think of HealthStream as a 6 month old lab learning how to walk on a leash and constantly distracted by everything.

We are excited about our One HealthStream operating structure which eliminated duplication and consolidated multiple divisions and departments as a means for improving operational efficiencies and consistent communications. HealthStream strives to provide a positive work environment that provides flexibility for employees to manage their work and personal lives. We continue to offer our employees the ability to work from wherever they choose to provide a better experience for all employees. We also understand the importance of providing proper training and onboarding for new employees, especially those in people management roles. Great Company but not a lot of growth for mid level employees

Pros

HealthStream is a great company with great leadership. If you are looking for a place to start off your career, this is a wonderful foundation. That being said, if you are a well established professional with multiple years of experience.. look elsewhere. There isn't much growth potential. Pay is low compared to market value but leadership has been known to underpay because they have brand recognition to help make up for talent.

Cons

Underpaid. Base salaries for sales reps are in the 50-60k range. OTE is $120-130 if you hit your quota
