Once great but currently struggling to find identity
Pros
MEDSEEK does pay well, especially considering the sporadic bonuses. With the lack of annual merit increases though, new job applicants will want to negotiate a salary that they will be happy with for a couple of years. The office space is comfortable and, despite an increasing level of red tape, we generally get the physical tools that we need to do our jobs well, whether that's unique software licensing, additional hardware, etc. Depending on the manager, training opportunities may also be available. The benefits are on par with other companies, though there's an unnecessary air of superiority whenever benefits are introduced. New employees seem to enjoy themselves much more than those that have been around a few years. The frenetic pace keeps things interesting and allows ample learning opportunities.
Cons
Spring and Winter layoffs are the norm for the last couple of years. This combined with others leaving in frustration has contributed to an extremely high turnover. Upper management struggles to understand where real problems lie with each of MEDSEEK's products. Has been trying to spin up dev/QA/BA teams in India for more than a year now. Some high performing US employees have been relegated to hand-holding for the struggling Indian teams. From a sales perspective, short term contracts for custom features are valued over scalable product solutions that could be worth much more money in the future. Client facing roles have severe communication deficiencies, but don't recognize it as a problem. Email is considered the ideal channel for contact, even concerns that need a near immediate response. Changed the bonus structure from potential 10% of salary to 5%, without telling anyone but new hires. I suppose the assumption was that the current employees wouldn't be able to calculate what their bonus was supposed to be on the rare occasions that those targets are hit.
