Pros

Working from home is the only thing. BY the way, i am not from California but I can't put my real location

Cons

1. pay is so low and they are working on lower it even more 2. unpaid time off 3. unpaid holidays 4. you have no dignity, you are not supposed to answer the client's back the LEP can call you names and you also not supposed to defend your self. 5. They send you emails asking for additional hours and when you submit a request they just decline it for overstaffed reasons lool 6. I will be applying soon for public assistant if they keep decreasing the pay 7. I WILL LEAVE soon as soon as I find a new job.

Pros

I'd like to think there was something positive about my time with language line but I would be lying. Unemployment might actually be a better prospect.

Cons

Everything. The clients being used to cutrate overseas interpreters are often rude and short with you. The staff is terrible towards the interpreters because of either fear of losing their jobs or because of being overworked, underpaid and being under the ever watchful eyes of the creeps in middle to upper management. The pay, even if you're literally working full-time will not be enough to even live modestly unless you have another stream of income. The ever looming culture of fear that management is always willing to cut your hours or fire you for minor offenses like TAKING TIME OFF, even if it's health related. This was the WORST JOB I EVER HAD and that's saying a lot considering I worked as a dog groomer and a pizza delivery driver as a kid. I would honestly rather smell like wet dog/canine anal-gland or get a gun shoved in my face than EVER work for these soul robbing slave drivers. This is literally the worst legitimate job out there. My only advice is to avoid this company at all costs. The only reason i got involved with them was that the company I worked for before was absorbed by LLS.

Pros

get good experience working for different clients that would enrich your knowledge. I loved working as an interpreter and I was working in another company that was bought by LLS and ended up working for them

Cons

very low salary pay that would never change no matter how many years you work for them. They ask to do other things like testing, translating and recording test without any incentive for the extra things you do. worked with them for almost eight years and my pay stayed as is $11.50. They ask us to get internet service to accommodate the company new need and refused to compensate the employees for it.
