Awful Culture

Pros

Some of the people with whom I worked were talented and wanted to institute changes to make the organization a better place to work and provide more value to our clients. I've heard that some of the "lifers" have been demoted. It might be a little better now.

Cons

There is a clear delineation between the "old guard" and "new guard". Old Guard upper and senior management prided themselves in keeping with the status quo. They spoke openly about other members of management in front of subordinates in a derisive manner. Members of the new guard were told repeatedly to not expect to come in and change anything. We were specifically told not to expect to update processes based on best practices we learned at former employers.

Pros

There are some great people that work here.

Cons

There is no work life balance. Supervisors are expected to work 60-70 hours per week; sometimes 6-7 days per week. New president has voiced in a meeting that employees (including non-exempt employees) are expected to come to work sick. Comp time is not allowed. The only thing upper management is looking for is reduced expenses (meaning employees will NEVER be paid what they deserve and additional staff will NOT be hired as needed) so that they can get their end of year bonus. This means longer, stressed out employees and supervisors who consistently work late into the night while senior management comes in whenever they wish and leave at a normal time. Forget getting promoted. They are only hiring outside staff now. If there were other mortgage sub-servicing companies in the area, LoanCare would lose 75% of their current staff.

Awful HR communications

Pros

Timely offer letter was sent via email

Cons

This HR dept is the worst I have seen. I have many years working in the financial world and this by far is the worst case of no communication I have ever been apart of. I had an issue n my background check. The dates did not match exactly when they checked them so that flagged my offer. I submitted in writing the reason and it was accepted and sent to a "review" that was 3 weeks and 2 offers I had passed on while waiting ago. I still have no news. I have emailed multiple people and make several phone calls. If this is how the company functions I may be glad I haven't heard anything. Not impressed at all.
