      Creative environment Learn a lot about products Work uniform isn't overly restrictive Opportunity to work in many different areas of the store

      Minimum wage Management always threatens firing employees for odd things Poor communication between employees and management; hard to work with school schedule Ask you to interact with customers, yet if you aren't going "fast enough" on register, they is harsh unwarranted criticism Squalid bathroom and break-room; disgusting

      Promotions are a joke! There is no loyalty from the company, and training is terrible!

      Pros

      I really enjoyed working with the people at Michaels.

      Cons

      Corporate office is where the trouble is at. Orders from above have begun a theme on the sales floor, "If you can't do it, we will find some one who will." Without time, training, and experience, no job can get done. By the way, there are only full time jobs for managers, all else is part time, meaning an average of 5.5 hours a week per employee or less. I think I would get better pay and hours at a drive thru!

      -Good Hourly Wage -Option for health insurance down the line -Job security with a growing company -Middle supervisors were fantastic and treated you with respect

      Cons

      -Terrible upper management -Lies about the hours you will be given -New store structure eliminated many of the full time positions so insurance wouldn't be required for each
